I think i have herpes contd

result was just negative -That night when I looked at my vagina I almost had a heart attack I saw 3 things: 1st I had a red bump at the bottom of my uretha opening No pian No irritation 2nd My inner inner labia (not labia minora - its closer to my vaginal opening) looked swollen on the right side with bumps The bumps lead to my vaginal opening 3rd my vaginal opening looked blocked The top of the opening was swollen and bumpy I think it is the gspot area When looking at my vagina It looks swollen shut But the funny thing was It does not hurt at all Just a slight irritation (from 1-10, a 1) 9/19 -I start driving my self crazy with to much info on STDs I cant sleep cant stop crying I feel scared and I stop eating By this time my boyfriend is feeling fine his rash under his penis cleared up and his scrotum looks normal just a little red by the end of the day 9/20 -I got sick I mostly feel bad at night for about 3 days mild sore throat my sinus blocked green mucus a little achy and feverish Then on the 22nd I started my menstrual cycle 9/24 -I got blood drawn for HIV and HSV The clinic said they use IgG for testing I have to wait 2 weeks for results my pap will be ready Monday. My boyfriend is feeling fine his penis is normal I was checking his scrotum and on the bottom where he cant see I found a bump it is red on top and purple around it He did not know it was there It does not hurt or itch He put clearasil on it, the next morning it looked smaller and red As for me the swelling on my uretha is going down always flesh color or a little red but it never itch or hurt My inner inner labia swelling is going down, but I still see bumps inside my vagina Question What is your opinion of our symptoms If you think it is HSV then why am I not feeling any pain from my vagina or uretha If that is a herpe bump on my boyfriend what should I expect to see happen with him next

My opinion is that you need to get yourself into a good clinician immediately to have someone look at the bumps.  I know it is Sunday, but still, this is important.  You've been going to clinicians regularly through this, is there a reason that you didn't go when the bumps appeared?

OK, let me address some of your questions.  First, the IgM Test.  It is not reliable, with many false positives.  In this case, it probably is correct.  If IgM testing is accurate, it looks often for new infection, though IgM can also appear with old infection.  If you have had cold sores your whole life, then that is old infection, and I would expect the IgM test to be positive.  However, why anyone would include an IgM test in an STD screen is completely and totally beyond my understanding.  Forget it.  Go with your known history of cold sores.

Next, your symptoms and that of your boyfriend are classic for yeast infection.  Even with bad yeast infection, you can see bumps and swelling.  Your boyfriend seems to be responding nicely to the yeast medicine, and you were also, until the bumps, right?  The bump with purple on his scrotum is likely a sebaceous cyst and nothing to be concerned about them, I think the majority of men that I examine have a few on the scrotum.

The bumps inside your vagina could be normal bumps, normal skin, that has swollen a bit with the yeast infection, very hard to say, but before getting too scared, have someone look at them.

Has your boyfriend had testing for HSV?  If not, I think that would be a good idea.  Then you will both know where everyone stands with this for now and for the future.  I don't expect anything much will come up with the pap test, in terms of all of this, but sometimes yeast shows up on a pap smear.

Overall, I would bet money on the yeast diagnosis, but when bumps are present as you describe, they should be evaluated, before the are gone.  Try to act on this problem, rather than worrying too much.  You've done a great job so far, following up on things, keep up the good work, and let me know how it goes, OK?

Good news, Hope.  I'm glad you are going to pursue getting these bumps checked out.  When you have any news, be certain to write back, OK?  I'll be waiting to hear more.

I thank you sooo much for your response... The stress I have been under has worn me out... I did not go back too have the bumps looked at because I was soo sure it was herpes and I think subconsciously I did not want to hear it.. But you are right I need to keep going forward.. On Monday I will get it looked at. Wow I new this websit would help me... I'm feeling a little hope for the first time this whole month.. No matter what results I feel I have someone to run too.. Thank you Terri.. I need support and I will follow your advise. I think I'm making myself get sick by stressing so much.
