IgG result of 1.24

My girlfriend received an IgG result of 1.24.  The doctor told her this is not a problem and she is not infected.  The test report clearly indicates >1 is positive and .9 to 1 is ambiguous.  How could 1.24 be negative?

Are you near a border town such as El Paso?  If you are I would say cross over and go to an STD clinic.  If you are near El Paso or Tx I can give you a few clinics in the area.  They maybe able to order the Western Blot for you.  Though I don't know what city your in.

And of course my test simply came back negative.  We took them two weeks ago, there is lag time between infection and the test showing, and the test is not 100% positive.  She apparently has not had a noticeable outbreak, so I don't know what her infection site is(if it is genital I should be in the clear).

I have no idea what her testing options are in mexico for confirmatory testing. if you can find a herpes support group closer to you both, they might be able to help you with that part.

this is a low positive result and has a risk of being a false positive. she'll need further testing to see what her status is.

have you been tested yet to know your own status?

I am in Mexico so my confidence in the doctor is limited.
