one follow-up question.. I have a dermatologist appointment in two days. The bumps i noticed appeared over saturday/sunday but already seem to be fading away without blistering or ulceration.
I'm going to keep the appointment with the dermatologist (i have an appointment with my gp this afternoon). If this was a herpes outbreak, especially an initial one, that appeared on saturday/sunday, they probably wouldn't be gone by thursday..right?
Thank you.
My dermatologist isn't available until later this week so I have made an appointment with my regular doctor in NYC (a dr in Internal Medicine) examine the bumps today.
If he looks at them and tells me 'no concern, it's not herpes' can i leave it at that? i'm only asking because he's not an std specialist nor a dermatologist. this will be my absolute final comment.
Dr Hook has already answered this question for you.
your regular provider is a fine place to start to be seen at for your symptoms.

if i do make an appointment with a doctor, would a dermatologist be more appropriate in this case? or should i go have an std specialist look at it? thank you in advance.
