Is my rash Genital Herpes?

Hello, i am wondering about a lumpy red rash that has appeared on my upper thigh groin area recently. red lumps have formed around this area and have been there for at least 2 or 3 weeks now, they have turned a purple colour and look to be expanding. I have done research into genital herpes however most pictures seem to show spot like growths and are said not to leave red or purple marks so i dont know if what i have is herpes or jock itch or another related problem. A similar thing to this has happened to me before, with red lumps showing up around the groin area and lasting a few weeks however they have been nowhere near as bad as this now. In terms of sexual activity i have not had unprotected sex in around 3 years, which leads me to believe this isn't genital herpes because i would have thought that my symptoms would have been worse 3 years ago than now. I have included a picture of what the rash looks like on my profile, i would greatly appreciate any information people could give me from looking at this, as i am confused as to what it may be. At first glance this looks like a groin rash or what you are mentioning as jock itch. This doesnt look like herpes at all. You have to use an antifungal cream this time it may not resolve on its own.

Certainly does not look like herpes. This is hence unrelated to the question as to whether you have herpes or not, which you can test to find out.
