Is there anything besides Lanacane?

Hello~ I was diagnosed 2 years ago with genital HSV 2.  I that time I have only had 2 very minor outbreaks, maybe 3 tops.  a few weeks ago I started to have the most severe outbreak all over my rectum and vaginal area.  the entire area is COVERED and as soon as one seems to start to heal , 2 more pop up.  I take 500 mil Valtrex daily and just went through the 1mg I'm supposed to take for 3 days during an outbreak.  I took that for 5 days but I am not noticing one tiny bit of improvement.  The only thing I thought to try was Lanacane because of the severe itching and burning.  I had tried Aquaphore (sp?) on my rectal area before I started to break out because I thought it was hemerroids.  Can anyone suggest anything to help me?  I'm going through tubes of Lanacane so fast, and I don't feel that the Valtrex is working.  I have to sit at a desk all day and am a single Mom so I can't chill out in loose pants all day at home like I'd like to!  I'm new to this so ANY advice would be GREAT!

I recommend going to be seen and getting tested for vaginitis. Yeast and bacterial infections vaginally can cause rashes like you've described as well as trigger your herpes to reoccur too. This isn't acting like a typical herpes ob and it doesn't sound like just herpes so you need to follow up on it. all the valtrex and topical anesthetics in the world aren't going to help if it' s not just herpes going on :(
