It's time to look past herpes as a cause of these symptoms. it scabbed and fell off so at this point it's too late for a lesion culture but certainly talk about it with your provider to see what other sort of work up they want to do.

Another point...it did scab and the scab now fell off....kind of nervous that my 3 and 6 month test could have been incorrect....
The suspicious lesion is almost gone. I noticed it Saturday at 11am and now today its basically gone...will be completely gone by tomorrow? Is this indicative of how herpes manifests itself?
Does it typically clear in 4-5 days? (especially if first noticed outbreak) Trying to convince myself that it was simply a normal abrasion...
Personally I wouldn't bother with a doctor's visit since you haven't had any new partners lately. Just treat the lil guy a lil nicer :)

ps they don't let me out of my white padded cell very often so I just keep getting online...hehe he

ps: I'm very impressed with your genorosity on this forum. Very impressed to come back a year later and still see you helping people.
It's incredibly unlikely to be due to herpes.
You using a good lube when you are taking matters into your own hands?

Okay Grace, you helped me earlier this year....I'm back. No new exposures, only the one previously explained.
I ultiamtely tested negative again for both HIV and HSV (HerpesSelect) at 6 months. Now over a year past exposure I got a strange abrasion on my penis head. It was not a blister but definitely a red scrape in the skin like nothing I have had before. It is painless and I noticed it after masturbating. What do I have going on? Do I need to go back to the doctor again? Is it possible that I could have had a negative test, and this actually be herpes. Please help
ooops ooops....a thousand ooops. typo...Tested negative for everything including HIV. To clarify, at this point in time (90 days post expsoure) I am negative for all STDs. Sorry for confustion and if I freaked everyone out. :)
You tested + for hiv? or was that a typo?
Very few folks get a "classic" herpes ob when newly infected. That's why follow up testing is best and you've followed up onthat properly.

Thanks. I was primarily focused on HIV the whole time but also tested positve for that. Just wanted to make sure the window periods are similar. I think I may be out of the woods. I'll continue to monitor.
One last question for you...Is the initial outbreak of herpes ALWAYS extremely painful? Is it unmistakable as herpes? Your the best :)
Testing negative for herpes 3 months post possible exposure makes it very unlikely you have herpes. It's time to move past the possibility of herpes being the cause.
