Itchy red rash on upper inner thigh (male) - unsure if it's herpes

I have two small patches of extremely itchy red rash on my upper inner thigh (right near my groin). The skin is slightly raised and appears quite flaky, though there are no sores or lesions that I can see.  The rash appeared quite suddenly a couple of days ago.

I am a male, and have been in a monogamous relationship for the past six months, but I would definitely like to rule out the possibility of this being herpes.

Hi what your mentionting doesnot suggest herpes at att but more a jock itch type of irritation.
