Less Outbreaks!

I have been doing some research on the internet to see how I can have less outbreaks. Can anyone give me some suggestions on how I can have less outbreaks? Or is it something I can't control? Please help me out. Thanks

Valtrex is an acyclovir prodrug.  Greatly simplified this means that you swallow valtrex and your body converts it into acyclovir. Because of this unique delivery system, you get more active acyclovir in the body to kick some herpes butt.  Acyclovir works the same, you just have to take it 2x/day compared to once daily.  I know with my insurance I pay under $20 for a 3 month supply which makes it WAY worth taking a pill 2x/day instead of once daily!  If you look on the valtrex prescribing info, it compares it's efficacy with acyclovir even -  http://us.gsk.com/products/assets/us_valtrex.pdf   page 19 so you can see it for yourself.

If you just have burning and no obvious lesions then you need to go and be seen by your provider to get it checked out.  Also get checked for yeast and bacterial infections too vaginally - they are quite common in us gals.

You absolutely do not have to take suppressive therapy for life!!! Most folks only use it for a couple of years - depends on their situatio.  It'sdifferent for everyone.  As  far as cost   - without insurance, in the US, you can get acyclovir under $20/month at walmart.  INsurance makes it really cheap - especially if you get 3 months at a time supply.

The daily suppressive therapy are the ones that I will have to take every day for the rest of my life right? do you know how much they cost? are they expensive like the valtrex? and also. I have been this burning sensation for about 2 days. Could that be linked to the herpes virus. can how can i reduce the burning sensation I tired the epson salt bath and it works for a little while and stops.

Lysine doesn't do much at all for preventing herpes ob's.

Most people don't have dietary links either.

Pretty much the virus reoccurs without real rhyme or reason :(

daily suppressive therapy with one of the herpes antivirals will not only significantly reduce ob's but will also reduce viral shedding which is the most important part if you are in a discordant relationship.

Try dynamiclear it works great. You put a couple of drops on a q-tip and rub it over the blister. It stings a little at first but then it feels fine. The blister clears up really fast too. Its I think $87 a bottle but it was so worth it. I haven't had an outbreak in over 4 months because of it.

I was also taking lysine but didn't see any change for me, but it might help you. Good luck and I hope you find something that works

Here is the website
