Mouth Sores?

On Easter Sunday i felt a tingling sensation and it ended up being a large yuck thing on the inside of my lower lip wich hurt (that part went away after maybe 3 days or so) and then i had all these tiny white spots on my cheeks and tongue with it and they didnt hurt except my the front of my tongue felt sore a lot. Well today April 3rd they seem to have cleared up mostly and then i ate a chocolate rabit and more of them appeared??? Is this mouth herpes, canker sores, allergic reaction? I am kinda freaked out about it.

i am gettin used to it lol ;P   plus i came back clean on the hiv test YAY!!!!!! *celebration* woooohoooooooooooo i was sooooo freaked about that , now i think they will probably have to do an A1C to check my blood sugar for the past 3 months, i dunno..... seems to be clearing up for the most part there is one really infected spot in my mouth it is swollen up and hurts but when i use the mouth wash it takes the pain away so i am thinking that its just part of the mouth condition.  Also when i was 21 i had a severe reaction to penicillian and got first degree burn from head to toe, i wonder what my organs looked like then in december at 22 i had zithromax and had an allergic reaction to that because they gave it to me for haveing an allergic reaction to a feminine hygene product. ugh, man o man lol ;P  now im 23 and this. So goes life, i am soooooooo relieved that i do not have those illnesses.

YEs i am glad! i just got the presctiption filled and its  nystatin swish and swallow 4 times a day for 10 days YUCK!!!!!! I will use it but am not looking forward to it! :(  as for having answers yes i am glad that it can be treated.  I had my blood drawn in february and there was no sign of diabetes and thats what my previous doc checked for. Infact my doctor now was looking at the report and said that my sugar was too low for diabetes.

Aren't you glad you went to be seen finally????

Many things can cause oral thrush ( typed oral flush first....he he he ) - the changes in your body's chemistry on south beach could also be a factor.  Even using hydrogen peroxide in your mouth can kill off your protective flora enough to trigger yeast overgrowth too.  Your provider looking into other reasons is worthwhile but I wouldn't worry too much about it. South beach diet will help keep your blood sugar under control too if you were inching your way up to type 2 diabetes :)

Glad you finally have answers :)

i went to the doc, finally! i know, well its oral thrush :(    i had a yeast infection in december  and this time i have one in my mouth, so they are running some tests to figure out why... i had blood work done in february and there was no sign of diabetes so they are testing me for hiv :( scarred me but they said its highly unlikely i have it and its just routine checking so i shouldnt be worried,  i am still freaked out about it.  I was doing south beach for a long time, phase 1 of the plan more than the recommended 2 weeks so maybe its just a nutritional thing. Or is it possible it could be pre-diabetes? thanx everyone for your support and help. I really appreciate it! :)

This isn't something you should be handling on your own at home. You NEED to go see your provider for this at this point.

thanx,  maybe the mouth problem is associated with it, i have been rinsing with hydrogen peroxide as well, b/c listerine and brushing 3 times a day was helping slightly but not fixing anything.  the spots in my mouth dont hurt at all and they are just like white little spots that appear and then i scrape them off.

It's more likely to be an ear infection. I recommend seeing your provider and having it checked out. You can have viral infections that cause ear infections, bacterial ear infections, sinus issues that can cause fluid in the ear as well as GERD ( reflux ) issues that cause cause it too.  Sounds like it's time for a full work up.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

thanx i started brushing my teeth properly, and it seems to be clearing up , i brush my gums and everything and i am using a toothpick b/c i do not like flossing so its a start, so i think it could be gingivitis :(  but am brushing 2-3 times a day now gums, cheeks, tongue, teeth and all!

That sounds like allergies to me, which can also cause mouth issues.

thank you, i usually am healthy and when i get sick its usually something horrible(i get hysterical and cry--and i have a horrible fear of being told i have something and i feel like i am having a heart attack its awful), in february i had some horrible head cold thing i got dizzy i couldnt walk or stand and its now april and i am still havin trouble with my ears a bit and my sinuses. I dont have the dizziness thank god!!  but my ear will clog up and i cant get it to level out. You are right i should not worry, let a professional look at it. :)

It's still probably nothing to be concerned about.  Alcohol can trigger canker sores if these are that. It also could be another viral infection causing mouth sores too.  Yes it could be oral herpes but until you are seen monday it'll be too late to get an accurate culture to find that out.  Avoid acidic foods, sour foods and alcohol for the rest of the weekend and see if that helps.

Oh and avoid the chocolate bunnies - but not for mouth sore reasons - by now everyone's eaten off the ears and you are stuck trying to get your teeth thru those big thick hunks of chocolate around their middles and it hurts your teeth....he he he

I'd say its likely to be an allergic reaction or canker sores.

You might want to get it checked.
