My body hates me.... please help...

My X'girlfriend told me she had herpes,
we were together for 4 years, and i had believed i got it from her.
she now claims she doesnt have it,  a doctor testedher blood and it came up negative.

A few things have happened.

When i was young i got a rash on my elbow,  looked like the pores flared up and turned red.

Teenager:  I got one on my ankle..  doctor thought it was staff,  it cleared up in a week.

18  I got a cold sore or so i thought,  had never had one before,  it was quite bad,  looked like millions of almost microscopic little red dots all next to eachother.   went away in a week,  covered my upper lip...

20:  Two 3 inch lines showed up on my back..   They wept,  blistered up,  turned almost a greyish color.  Doctors thought it was shingles.  got better in a week.

22:  Lip swelled up,  cold sore i thought..  spread to my eyes,  nose,  down my arms,  around my ears...  started showing up on my back,   legs,   everywhere.   Never has shown in my mouth,  on my eyes,  tongue.   went to the doctore,   they called it staff,  it blistered up and i was in agony.  They couldnt grow a culture,  no one has ever succeeded at it since i've been sick.  I was put on antivirals and antibacterials for a week by "IV".   went away in a week.

Then started getting sick about every 6 months...  same thing...
I'm healthy,  Acyclovier doesnt seem to help,  vegetarian,  take my vitamines,  do yoga,  good diet.

then every 3 months...
Getting worse,  getting scared...   no diagnosis just guesses.

i'm sick now...  and the last time i was sick was a mere 30 days ago..

My hands look like i have a heat rash over them..
i'm blistering between the fingers...
my lips eyes, ears, face, neck were irritated and swollen...
its starting on my legs,  it runs down both my arms...

It hurts really bad,  nothing makes it go away...

Have you ever heard of anything like this?

The last doctor thought it may have instead been an auto'immune disease of some kind..
or an alergy..   doesnt show in patters that are usually associated with herpes...

What do i do?  :(

Lots of treatments for eczema out there many of which are just topicals.  For some folks it's as easy as just using something like eucerin cream to keep the skin hydrated. if it's allergy related then finding the source and eliminating it is the first step.

Good luck getting to the bottom of all this :)

Well they ruled herpes out pretty much,
they took a culture anyways just to make sure but i wont have the results for a week.

I have the results of a biopsy from before:
bare with me because they sealed it after telling me and i don't think i'm supposed to open it until its in the dermatologist hands.  so im'not sure how to spell this right...

They said the tissues showed to be something like

Unspecific spongeosis dermatitis.
Then suggested Bug bite alergies, sensitivity to ultraviolet lite, or other sources of allergies.

The doctor said in her perfessional opinion it is in no way connected to a herpes symplex of any kind.

They believe it is infact some sort of ECZEMA!   You're good!

though they are not sure,  this was just a general practicioner.

About the MRSA,  no the cultures failed,  so they just gave me everything they could and tried to cover all fields...
Antibiotics in one arm for a week IV
Antivirals in the other arm for a week IV
and Steroids in a topical cream form for 2 weeks
and in the end they admited that they don't know,  but they "thought" it was mrsa,  and then told me if it came back they would want to check me for aids again...

First time i was checked:  Negative
Second time i was checked: Negative
Third time i was checked: Negative.

I don't think i have aids..

But i will update you on what the dermatologist says...

If it was eczema,
do you know what a person can do to help eliminate it?
I don't want to use steroids...   I'd really rather anything natural or dietary that i might be able to fall into...

Thanks again!

MRSA infections don't look like anything in particular. You can have mrsa in your lungs, your urine, your skin etc.  I'm sure if they said mrsa to you with that last infection - it was cultured out of somewhere on you and that's why they said it. We healthcare folks take mrsa very seriously.

I'm not a fan of the blood type means anything other than what type of blood you have and whether you most likely had the mom and dad you thought you did or if you should've been a heck of a lot nicer to your milk man growing up ;)  Just be careful not to get too sucked into that sort of stuff.  Eat normally. Eat well balanced.  Eat oreo's and ben and jerry's every now and then too.  Someone's gotta keep the dentist's and the plastic surgeon's in business ;)

Should be interesting to hear what the dermatologist decides.  At the very least - it sounds like a family history of eczema.

I looked up MRSA,  and i don't think i ever had it.
The symptoms are all wrong,  it looked nothing like it, it acted nothing like it,  and if it was i shouldn't get just better without antibiotics.  Once again it sounds like the doctors had no idea what to say so they just slapped it with a label,  threw antibiotics at it and gave me a bill that remains almost as expensive as my mazda3 sport cost me brand new.

I'm going to the doctors today,
Getting a type specific blood test,  and finding out what my blood type is.
plus a referal to a good dermatologist.

I'd cross my fingers but i'm really not sure what i'm hoping for.

Thanks for all your help,

Some folks just seem to have issues with MRSA reoccuring unfortunately but what you just described as your symptoms doesn't sound like a chronic mrsa issue.

This definitely sounds like a skin issue that needs further work up for.  Hopefully the dermatologist can figure out what is going on. I can't even hazzard a guess as to what is going on.

I'm thinking i'm not B12 deficient,  since i'm regular with my suppliments.

Eh...  yes..   mrsa lol,  sorry,  i'm trying.

I'm going to take your advice,
I'm going to a Dermatologist asap,
I'm also getting blood tests, and a full scale allergy test just to make sure.

Grace,

You said your friends had a "booger" of a time getting rid of MRSA,
Was that to say to clear up,  or did it remain reaccuring?
How did they manage it?

Another thing,
Is it possible for herpes to just start spreading across your body and plague you like i expressed?  Most people seem to think it's not what i have though when i blister it looks very similar some times.  Is this even a possibility?   Do you have any idea what complications might be involved in something like that happening?   is there anything a person could do to try to avoid such things getting worse?   perhaps stop them from coming back all together?

One thing that always struck me as strange is that no matter how bad i get,  or what i use (antibiotics, antivirals, vitamin C, olive leaf extract, etc etc,)  It always seems to go away in about the same amount of time.

One more thing,
It seems to follow a pattern.
The pattern varies but usually only very slighlty.

I usually start by noticing a roughness in the courner of my mouth on my lips.  Its very subtle and i can only tell when i rub my tongue upon it.
If i look with good light in the mirror,  i can see nothing at all.  its not irritated at first,  nothing,  just a slight roughness that usually isn't there.
usually a few days to a week later is when it fires off,  and it all goes down hill from there.   Sometimes it wont hit me at all,  but other times it suddenly spreads like wild fire.

usually in this order
Starts at lips,
Up toward nose,
Down toward chin,
Around eyes,
Down under chin toward my neck,
Then back of hands,  maybe legs,  this is the point where it becomes less predictable.

Some times it never passes my lips.  But never do i get blisters on my face what so ever.

If i do nothing at all...
It still goes away in aprox. 1 week >_<

I think you need to follow up on your various skin issues with a good dermatologist.  No matter what is going on - you could just be the unlucky sort and be getting bacterial infections periodically , it could be something like psoriasis or eczema or it could be something more concerning medically that needs attention. MRSA ( not mersa...he he he ) is becoming more and more common but it sounds like you were already treated for that.  Many of the folks I know who have skin issues that are caused by mrsa have a booger of a time getting rid of them too unfortunately so one more reason to follow up with a dermatologist regularly.  It also sounds like you had a rather extensive MRSA infection too which is why I'd follow up on this all.

The answer isn't to eat a burger either.   Unless you are a junk food vegetarian it's unlikely to be  your diet ( you didn't say vegan you said vegetarian ).  Kudos to you for making dietary changes and making the effort to not eat meat!!  As long as you are eating healthy and not living on pizza and french fries - little risk of a b 12 deficiency or any other health issues from a lack of certain vitamins/amino acids from being a vegetarian.  Whole grains, beans and veggies along with milk/milk products are a healthy and well rounded diet :)

The dermatologist can also do a full allergy panel on you to see if you have an allergy that is contributing to all of this.  It's not likely to be a food allergy since it's not happening all that frequently but it could be.

I wouldn't worry about this being about herpes - even if you do have either oral or genital herpes.  Get yourself a type specific herpes igg blood test to see what your status is since you are going to get a full work up done anyways. That way you can know your status and put worrying about it behind you.

At what age did you become vegetarian?

B12 deficiency can cause a whole lot of problems including crazy rashes. I believe it progresses over time as well. Just a thought. Eat a cheeseburger. Or see a specialist.

~ I was put on antivirals and antibacterials for a week by "IV".   ~

I was on several types antibiotics over the week,  because the hospital thought that i had "Mersa".  This would have killed the syphilis would it not?  I read up on it and it sounds very different to the symptoms i show.  But thank you for you input.

I have gone through periods of distress,  Like most people have.
But my life is going very well.  To be honest my life has been getting better and better over the past few years.  But on the contrary my sickness seems to be getting progressively worse.  The title of this post was to catch peoples attention,  I don't actually beleive my body "hates" me.  But to be honest i'm open to almost anything right about now.  My life is good,  but i'm getting scared.

Autoimmune is genetic is it not?
I'm not certain,  I've read a little but there are a lot of disorders, and i have hardly grazed the surface.

If it helps any,  My father told me the other day that he has experienced something similar.  He gets a rash on his inner thighs that flares up now and again,  and the doctors have not been able to diagnose it.  They've put him on antibiotics,  antivirals, and it never seems to help.
Though "Camphor Spirit" seems to fix the problem very quickly.
Perhaps its genetic?  passed down?

I really don't know..   i'm very confused...  :(

I'm going to call a doctor tomorrow,
I think i want a basic check up.   I'm going to get tested for std's, nutrients in my blood, Blood type (i'm a vegetarian and i've heard that certain blood types can have health problems if they remove meat from their diet completely)

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be helpful to be tested for?   just to get an idea of my general health?

Thank you again for your attention and input.
I do appreciate it very much.

Nothing you have said suggests herpes. What you have described sounds like Second Stage Syphilis. Tell that to your Doctor and see what he says. There are a few things that would argue against Syphilis but a lot of what you say sure sounds like a possibility.

Sounds like you're a somatizer. When a doc mentions the word "autoimmune," that's a give-away that there could be underlying psychosomatic issues. It's fairly common that people can manifest these kinds of "rashes" due to psychological distress.

The title of your post is bizarre to begin with. Your body "hates" you? That's a very strange thing to say. Before even opening the post, I think anybody with half a brain could figure out that you probably are having physical reactions to psychological stressors. Ask your doctor about a referral to a psychotherapist or a psychiatrist.

On another note,
Depending on where it is on my body,  and which time i'm showing signs of infection,
It shows up in different ways.

Some times it looks like a heat rash,  a bunch of little red pin sized marks all over,  hundreds of them.

Some times it just looks like my skin is red,  on large blotch.  This mostly shows like this on my face and genitals.

On my hands and arms and legs i sometimes get blisters,  lots of them that over time almost form into one single blister.

Hope this helps.
