did your friend have a full std screening done? you can get tested for everything but herpes for little to no cost at your local health department std clinic. Call your closest health department to see what your local options are. both you and your friend can go and get a full work up done. You need to wait until 3 months post encounter for all your testing to be accurate so just wait a few more weeks to do the proper follow up so your hiv testing is accurate.
if your friend tested negative for herpes at 10-11 weeks, really no reason to repeat the test. the odds of contracting herpes from a one time encounter is very low in general plus you don't even know if the partner you both had even had it or not so it's really not worth additional costs at this point.
if you are having obvious symptoms, be seen within 48 hours of their appearance for a lesion culture and typing. your local health department does usually do lesion cultures, just not blood testing. no more ordering testing for yourself at this point, be seen for proper follow up when you are seen to confirm your status or find out what is really going on. make sense?

Sorry I did not know I should keep in the same thread :(
No this is a 3rd party that just tested that had exposure from the original person that we ended up getting it from.. I know very confusing but the negative test was a first time test igg test for her.
I will tell her to wait another 4 weeks and do again.
I have not had another test but maybe I should but I have had 3-4 breakouts since my original time so I am pretty darn sure I am positive.
You should wait to test with an igg type specific test after 12 weeks. An 11 week is great but we consider conclusive to be 12-16 weeks. At this point you should keep all your questions in your thread even if your posting for a friend unless they are typing the question themself.
Do not do a PCR on blood for HSV. Its a waste of money because Herpes isn't bloodborne virus.
I need a little bit of clarification, please.. Was it you or your friend that tested positive at 3.8? (post from 12/29).
Did *YOU* ever confirm your status??
A test 10-11 weeks is pretty accurate... I couldn't tell you exactly how accurate; 80-90% of people will test + if they are indeed positive in that timeframe.
