Need some explanation and help

Hello everyone in the herpes community. My concern is I had protected vagnil sex with a dominican stripper. My concern is what's the chances/risk of me contracting hsv2 from this exposure. Also she said she gets tested to know her health status. My concern was that she wanted me to put it in without a condom but I said nope I need to put a condom on. Thanks for your response. I appreciate it.

You say "painful lesions" what exactly is painful?

yes. they do protect you almost 100% for many other std's and 90% for hpv. Proper use of condoms means the condom goes on when the clothing goes off. Just waiting until penetration to put one on lowers your rate of protection.

Thank you again. How much protection does a condom give you against herpes? Just want to inform myself.

you don't know if she has herpes for starters. Also folks with genital herpes, are not constantly contagious either. If you had protected sex with her several times a week for an entire year, you'd still be 98% likely NOT to contract hsv2 from her. that's why the risk from a one time protected encounter is very low and we don't even recommend testing just because of it ( unless you have another partner you need to be protecting ).

Thank you. Last last question. How come it's a very low encounter?

The risk of a one time protected encounter is very low. In the absence of obvious symptoms (painful lesions within 2-20 days), we don't even recommend testing.
