Odd Herpes Simplex Virus 1 symptoms.

I was given oral sex and I ended up with genital herpes but HSV-1 not HSV-2. What confuses me is that about 11 days after the encounter, I broke out with one big painful blister on my penis. The symptoms that came with it were horribly painful urination, a fever, night sweats, headaches and swollen glands. All lasted about 4 days. That's all expected but I also had a pretty bad sore throat for like 10 days. Could the sore throat be related or was it something else?

In case you wondering I tested for everything else conslusively (even HIV, which was no risk anyway for what I did.)

I get mixed info online regarding the symptoms with HSV-1 on the genitas. Some sights say sore throat is a symptoms when others make no mention of sore throat, but no website said a sore tgroan IS NOT a symptoms.

Thank you.

I would agree that the sore throat is probably not related to the genital herpes infection.

I did not get to see the numerical result, just positive, and about 4 weeks after. I have had negative results in the past before this.

How long after the oral sex was the blood test? What was the actual numerical result?

Visual diagnostic by a urologist and then a blood test.

How were you diagnosed with herpes on your genitals? A properly typed swab?
