Outbreaks never go away

I contracted oral and genital Herpes last September, and have maybe gone about one week symptom free since. I seemed to be getting two outbreaks a month.

My doctor recently put me on suppressive medication - I take acyclovir twice a day - but it seems I'm already developing another outbreak orally, and suffering from either genital warts or another outbreak down south (bumps itch from time to time and seem to be multiplying, though they are not immediately visible) not to mention a long cut in the crease of the labia (from swelling?) and milky discharge. Could this be a yeast infection or more of the same? I feel like this is really taking a toll on my emotional health - will I ever get to be symptom free like everyone else?

I was recently diagnosed with HPV. After being diagnosed, I became a basketcase. I automatically started checking my vagina everyday and every little thing that I noticed, I freaked out. I decided to get tested for all STDs including HIV and the results came back negative for all. I then started reading about Herpes and since this is a test that gets done only if you have an actual outbreak. I started doing research on the internet. I found out that this disease you can have for YEARS and not know it, not have an outbreak and walk around as if everything is normal. I decided to go get tested for Herpes. I got an Igg and Igm test. A week later, I got the results, which came back positive. The doctor explained to me that I had been in contact with HSV-2 antibodies and had never had an outbreak because it was such a low number in my system. He compared it to being a "carrier" and told me that he was almost 100% sure that I would never have an outbreak. What confuses me is that he prescribed medication to supress any symptoms of it even though he believes that I would never have an outbreak. He told me that I can still have a normal sex life. And that I dont understand either. Can I still be contagioius if I have sex? If I decide to one day have a family, is this something that can be passed on to my unborn child? I am so confused about this. What confuses me the most is that I have always had protected sex other than years ago with a long term partner. How accurate are these tests. If I have HSV- 1 (which I know that I do.) can that cause this test to produce a positive result. I am just confused because I have never had an outbreak. Can I sit on the toilet seat at home without the next person being infected? Can I share soap with other members of the family? Can I wash my clothes in the same load with other peoples clothing? I am just so confused. Can you please explain...

Thanks so much, Grace. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, I just wanted to know whether or not there was anything supremely out of the ordinary about this situation.

You need to go back to your provider and get tested for yeast and bacterial vaginal infections.  milky discharge is usually due to bacterial vaginosis ( bv ) and you can' t treat that with otc medications.

You have a lot going on down yonder it sounds like so you need to keep following up with your provider on all this.
