Pimple on Penile Shaft

Hello, last September I got what appeared to be a pimple on my penile shaft, that I popped and it was just like a normal pimple. In a few days it went away like a normal pimple. Last night (about a year later) I got a pimple in the same spot. This time again it popped and is already going away. It is just ONE pimple, very unlike every picture I see online of what "normal" herpes looks like. Note that I have only seen this twice in a years time, so wouldn't herpes break out more often and wouldn't there be more than one pimple?

Thanks!!

Why would you not want to pop it?

they can appear to be like a pimple. cover your bases and seek out a type specific herpes igg blood test so you know your status and can know whether you need to be worried or not :)

Thanks! I guess my question is do normal herpe lesions pop like an ordinary pimple? Because this was a typical white head pimple that pops, and it appears from the pictures I have seen, that normal herpe lesions do not look (or act?) like this....

Sometimes a pimple is just a pimple. Herpes lesions are not pimples. Be seen if you are uncertain.

Ok thanks. Does it look and act EXACTLY like a pimple does? Because the pictures I see look nothing like a normal pimple.

Outbreaks can vary where once or twice a year outbreaks can be completely normal. And yes you can have only one herpes lesion. At this point it's too late for a swab/culture, so at this point either get an IgG type specific blood test, or when you get another pimple be seen within 48 hours for a swab/culture (and don't pop it!)
