Please Help! Herpes and HPV Part 1

’m so disappointed right now because I’m having to retype this post again. I lost it somehow while typing. Not that I need anything else to upset me or stress me so I’ll just smile breath in and out and start again, because I am desperate for help, direction and insight on what I should do to get to a new normal in my life. I apologize firsthand for a long post, but I want to include everything. In Nov. 2014 my life started changing. I started having heart palpitations, fatigue and shortness of breath. Dec. 24, 2014 (yes Christmas Eve) I went to the emergency room because my ankle became swollen all of a sudden and I could not place pressure on it. I was giving a prescription and sent home. In my mind I was thinking this was related to arthritis. In 1997 I inured this foot really bad. It was a bad sprain. I never had any more problems with it until 2008. I went to my MD and told him how I was having problems with my leg and it would have a burning sensation and it wasn’t painful but it was like I could feel something moving in my leg. (Maybe nerves or something). He did some blood work and told me that I had high levels of uric acid and there’s a possibility I could have gout. So I did my research and saw that gout could come from an injury or consuming a lot of foods high in purines. Well I’ve always been conscious of the foods I eat and I was an active healthy woman so I said maybe this foot has set up arthritis from my injury. I went on into Jan. 2015 with heart palpitations, fatigue and developing muscle aches, spasms in my calves, continuous swelling of my right lymph node in my neck. Blurry vision where I even went to the eye doctor and my vision checked out fine. Dry eyes, dry mouth, constant coughing at night when I get into bed. My eyes felt heavy for weeks. So I finally made an appointment to see my MD in Feb. I had soooo much blood work done. Arthritis Panel, RA Factor, Uric Acid, Sed Rate ( My Sed Rate number was 40 – Above High Normal) HIV, Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, Magnesium, Mono Screen and all except Sed Rate checked out fine. I also had a cyst like bump on my breast and my MD told me I had a Staph infection and he prescribed cream and antibiotics, blood pressure medicine, pain medicine and a muscle relaxer to help with my other symptoms. I applied the cream and took all medicines according to my MD orders and I still wasn’t getting better. The area on my breast did close, but there was still pus inside It because I could squeeze it and some would come out. I didn’t feel like my MD had a clue of what was going on, plus he thought I was stressing or crazy, because he took all the blood work and nothing was showing abnormal but I knew my body and I knew something was wrong. So I thought it was arthritis related and I went to a Rheumatologist. I explained my foot issue and he clearly said it wasn’t gout. I explained the aches and fatigue and other issues I was having. He took blood work for Epstein Barr Virus, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Hepatitis A and Hep B, all were non react. Until this day I am clueless about why he chose those tests but Im grateful because it put me on the road to answers. I got a call in April about the results. I was positive for the Epstein Barr Virus and the nurse told me she was faxing my results to my MD. I went back to my MD and this time I chose to see a lady MD in the office after reading about the Epstein Barr virus. She was clueless also and told me it wasn’t much to do that the virus would have to run its course. I left there hopeless and by now the whole situation was becoming too much and I couldn’t work anymore so I went out on FMLA Leave at work. My body was fatigue, I wasn’t well and Im a single parent of one. I’m currently still out on leave and I go back in July but the road to getting better is so far off to me even though I have been trying and fighting every day to get better.

You need to know the numbers of the test as very most often having hsv1 oral could produce a false positive for hsv2. As of right now it would appear you have oral hsv1 as do 65% of the adult population. Herpes lip sores are not white heads. Having cervix HPV does not mean you have oral HPV as is not common at all. If you have a mouth sore and your concerned its HPV you can have it swabbed and a PCR test performed to determine what it is.

Hi I do not have any numbers for the Herpes test that was given to me. I took the test at my OBGYN office. My OBGYN just told me that the IGG antibodies showed I was positive for HSV1 and HSV2. I have two small blisters that appear mainly when I am in the heat and sun on my bottom lip and there is an area at the top of my top lip that raises when I am in the sun it doesn't form exactly a blister but it reacts in the heat like the bottom lip. As for HPV, I am  worried about this. In the corner areas of my mouth (you have to pull back my lips to see them)I have a cluster of white bumps at the top and the bottom of my lips. On the area on both sides of my mouth on the outside i have little small bumps the color of my skin not blisters. I have had an earache for about 3weeks and a discomforting lump in my throat for about the same time. It doesn't hurt but it is noticeable. My lymph nodes have been swollen along the right throat are and they have been swollen off and on quite some time now. I was diagnosed with HPV in the cervix and I haven't been tested for ORAL HPV. I'm concerned with having Oral HPV since I was diagnosed with it in my cervix. I am concerned about my health and my son's health. I'm scared and I don't know what else to do. Pleas help with any advice you can give. Thank you.

Hi, tell us the test you took for hsv2 and any numbers involved.

I went to a Natural food store and had a MSA Test done. It showed herpes in my report. So now I decided to see my OBGYN. I got tested for herpes and syphilis.(As I look back I know that God is still with me even though the journey is tough and hard.) I went in for my yearly pap smear and for my OBGYN to take a look at the area on my breast. He said it was a clogged sebaceous oil gland and referred me to a surgeon to have it lanced. I did and the odor I was having in my armpit went away once it was lanced. So I was happy about that. The next week I got the results for my pap smear back and it was abnormal and I was positive for HSV1 and HSV2. That alarmed me because I never had an abnormal pap smear. Following that I had to have a colposcopy and the results showed I had HPV also. Strains 16 and 18. I was about to lose it then. I held it together and I got to thinking that’s maybe why I have the nausea, abdominal pains and spotting after I had sex. I discussed with my doctor could I have passed this to my son and could I have HPV orally also because I would receive and give oral sex from the guy I was with. I broke up with him in Feb. 2015 because I feel that all of this is because of him. He stepped out several times the two years we were together and my goal now is taking care of me and getting my health back and taking care of my son. I have no energy for anything else right now. He referred me to an Infectious disease doctor because I still have lesions in the corner of my mouth and I have been using the Valtrex and acyclovir cream. They do not look like herpes lesions at all. I even asked him could I have genital herpes in my mouth. He said no HSV1 is above the waist and HSV2 is below the waist. I have irritation down there sometimes but have never had an outbreak. I have two small blisters on my bottom lip I notice that pop up especially in heat and an area on the left side of my top lip that raises in heat as well. My lips are always peeling, dry and darker than normal. I’ve read so much on herpes within the last month I haven’t seen any posts about darkness in the lip. So now I’m wondering if it could possibly be an Oral HPV infection. I have also had a constant earache off and on for the last month. The coughing when I go to bed at night. The feeling of something always in my throat. Fevers. I looked in my mouth last night and it looks like I have a wart or abscess on my gum on the bottom right behind my tooth. My gums on my cheeks seems as if they are swollen on each side inside my mouth and there is a white film like substance on them. I have read how hard it is to detect Oral Cancer. I contacted the Ear nose and throat clinic and they said they do not test for Oral Cancer. I just don’t know what to do next as far as getting tested for Oral HPV Im just at a loss. I don’t know what else to do. My money is running out and I’m so exhausted with going back and forth to the doctor. I am a beautiful woman on the inside and out and this whole situation is tearing me apart. I sometimes don’t even want to look in the mirror. My skin was so beautiful prior to all of this now Im dealing with two skin issues. Its so hard on me. I have also a flat wart on my nose and on the side of my face I have two. I read that you could apply salicylic acid on the warts to get rid of them but when I started that two days ago it seems like I had another one to form on my nose and on the areas in the corner of my mouth, it irritated them. And to top all of this. My 10 year old son started having symptoms during the early months I was having symptoms. He had the symptoms for months as well. He complained of his neck hurting, legs hurting, back hurting, he has had a sinus infection for a month and he has taken a lot of medications prescribed and over the counter. He’s had a really bad earache which isn’t normal for him and at one point he also had a sty on his eye. He broke out with little bumps on his legs that were little blisters and then another time he broke out with bumps that look like mosquito bites. Both times the bumps itched badly. I have also taken him back and forth to his pediatrician numerous of times and I have been open and honest with her about my situation and asked her and pleaded with her to test my son for herpes. She said there is no way I could have passed HSV2 to him it is transmitted sexually. But like I explained to her what if I passed this to him orally from him drinking after me or using my facial towel to wash his face before I knew I had anything. I have HSV2 and since Ive been diagnosed, Ive only had breakouts on my lips. Ive never had a breakout on my genitals. She declined my request every time I took my son in to her because he was tired or just didn’t feel well. She assured me that there is no way he has what I have. For two weeks he had an all over body itch where she prescribed him medication and he would also itch a lot in his groin area and sometimes he told me his butt would itch. He’s never done this before ever. His mood is always cranky because I know he doesn’t feel good and hasn’t felt good in months. Ive called clinics to get him tested and they will not test him because of his age, they need a referral from his pediatrician and she will not send a referral because he doesn’t have any lesions that have surfaced that resembles herpes. I just don’t know what to do anymore. My mom and sister have been helping me and even they think he doesn’t have it. I have not mentioned anything to his dad because I can’t even deal with the stress from him. We have never had a good relationship and this is all he needs to tear me apart when I didn’t mean for any of this to happen. And also about 2 months ago after my son visited the dentist, he had a canker sore in his mouth and that never happened before in his 10 years and that was also alarming to me. Now he is always clearing his throat a lot and he says it feels like something is in his throat. He has little bumps on his nose that resemble heat bumps and his pediatrician said they are not related to anything serious. Can someone please help Ive learned about the transmission for HSV2 thoroughly but Like I mentioned I believe I have HSV2 orally because Ive never had a break out down there. And now that Ive found out Im positive for HPV, could I have given this to my son also? I believe I have that not only cervically but orally as well. I am willing to exchange numbers to talk with someone. I need help please. I am a good mother and person, but my life has been upside down for the last few months and I want my life to get better therefore I’m reaching out. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
