Honestly, i would test just because of how worried you are. I don't believe any of what you've described is hsv. So i am pretty confident you're fine.
The problem with readingsymptoms lists is understanding the context of symptoms. Yes hsv can cause back pain but not on it's own. Meaning this can happen during an outbreak with lesions. Look up stress. Also causes back oain...etc
Igg and igm tests look for antibodies the body makes to combat the virus, not the actual virus itself. Only get the igg test. Igm tests are unreliable and full of false positives. No experts recommend the igm. In fact even the CDC is against them.
That's great!! Please update me and I'd wish you luck but i personally believe you have nothing to worry about.
Hsv is not an overly contagious infection. The odds of any one unprotected encounter with a known positive partner has about a 1 in a 1000 chance of spread the virus. Hsv2 has stats but unfortunately they're an educated guess. Just like hiv has demograpraphics that are more susceptible. Your risk for hsv overall is low.
No, while there are estimated stats on adults with hsv2. There are variables that can change the odds. For example, black woman in urban areas can be as high as 50% infected.
The odds are greater that your partners didn't have hsv2.
That happens. Like i said, you can test with an igg blood test
You won't get a primary after 20ish days. Even that is very rare. You can get an igg bloodtest. At 8 weeks it's a very good indicator and after 12 weeks it's considered conclusive. That being said i agree with your Dr. The odds of contracting hsv from the couple of exposures is very low and you don't know if he was pos for hsv2.
