Primary Outbreak 2 months after unprotected sex

Hi,  this place is very helpful and I was scrolling through previous Q and A to find a similar situation. I am woman that had sex with a man unprotected 2 or maybe 3 months ago.  2 weeks after that I developed an itch and watery discharge. I went to my OBGYN where I was diagnosed with Trich. My pap results,  Chlamydia and Gonnerrhea were negative. I also decided to do an HIV test that was negative.  However,  it did not register that maybe I need to do a herpes test.  I was ignorant about the virus thinking that it can be passed if there was lesions displayed on the penis. Now,  I have the knowledge that herpes can be spread without lesions due to asymptomatic shedding. Most people never develop symptoms or a primary outbreak until months later. I read the CDC website for clarification and it explained that most people develop symptoms at 2-20 days pass exposure. Well,  as I stated my encounter was 2 months ago and I figured by now I would have showed symptoms, but I could be wrong. As some do asymptomatic for years. The Dr. told me I shouldn't worry about herpes after that situation but from reading about it seems like I should. I recently developed a uti where I had a dull pain in lower abdomen and lower back pain. I was out on antibiotics and the symptoms are clearing itself.  I also been feeling tingling and pain in one spot on my vagina lip. Bumps are yet to show up. I am waiting for an outbreak. Can someone help

Honestly, i would test just because of how worried you are. I don't believe any of what you've described is hsv. So i am pretty confident you're fine.

The problem with readingsymptoms lists is understanding the context of symptoms. Yes hsv can cause back pain but not on it's own. Meaning this can happen during an outbreak with lesions. Look up stress. Also causes back oain...etc
Igg and igm tests look for antibodies the body makes to combat the virus, not the actual virus itself. Only get the igg test. Igm tests are unreliable and full of false positives. No experts recommend the igm. In fact even the CDC is against them.

Hi, I now have a better understanding of the incubation period of herpes. Which is 2-20 days. The part that was freaking me out is how some people show no symptoms or mild symptoms. However according to leading STI drs, they believe that typically most people show symptoms then if a person is aware of their bodies they would know.
Being that I am out of the incubation period is it safe to say that I am OK and move on or go to the testing appointment?

Thanks I will.  Hopefully I can find time to go and when I do I will update you.
Hello again,  what I am doing is probably not a good idea before I take a blood test,  but I have been searching online for herpes symptoms and found out that it cause back pain and butt pain.  Well,  I have a sore throat, back pain in my upper back,  and is getting cramps on my butt.  This may be a sign of a primary OB and I need to quickly seek a Dr.  It has been now 3 months since I had sex and haven't recieved any lesions. However I feel like theyre going to pop up being that I am having these symptoms.

Can you explain what the IGg and the IGM look for?  Which is accurate.
I believe I have HSV2

Hsv is not an overly contagious infection. The odds of any one unprotected encounter with a known positive partner has about a 1 in a 1000 chance of spread the virus. Hsv2 has stats but unfortunately they're an educated guess. Just like hiv has demograpraphics that are more susceptible. Your risk for hsv overall is low.

Hey thanks for the Education! I am always careful and try to stay educated as much as I can with STDs. I never been checked for herpes and came aware of it after reading about a famous person giving it to another woman. I then decided to do more research and learned a lot.
I am now aware that it can spread without the absence of lesions. Which prompted me to schedule test.  With your knowledge and reassurance I am going  to go to the appointment

No, while there are estimated stats on adults with hsv2. There are variables that can change the odds. For example, black woman in urban areas can be as high as 50% infected.
The odds are greater that your partners didn't have hsv2.

Hmm..... Well my last encounter was white that dated black women that sorta live in urban areas. I am a black women and the 3 out of the 5 of my encounters were black men protected. The other 2 were white men unprotected. One was my fiance and I am sure he did not have herpes. The last one was a friend I've known for a year. I'm not sure of his herpes status.

Herpes is very confusing.....wow.  It's not like a virus such as HIV where there are risk assessment and researched odds.
It seems like herpes you will acquire it easily.

I need a test

That happens. Like i said, you can test with an igg blood test

Hi,  thanks for this. Given the stats of herpes infection,  is it safe to say he does or any of the other men I slept with has HSV

You won't get a primary after 20ish days. Even that is very rare. You can get an igg bloodtest. At 8 weeks it's a very good indicator and after 12 weeks it's considered conclusive. That being said i agree with your Dr. The odds of contracting hsv from the couple of exposures is very low and you don't know if he was pos for hsv2.
