Am I risk of Herpes?

A week ago I kissed the guy I've been seeing. He didn't have any sores but I know that Herpes can also be transmitted even without symptoms. I found a cut on my bottom lip after the kiss. Two hours later my upper lip felt dry and it's been going on and off like that till last Wednesday and sometimes if I run my tongue over it (I'm hypochondriac, so I'm always licking my lips to check whether or not I have sores). So far no symptoms or leisons, but 2-20 is it till the sores kick in? Did I catch herpes from that kiss?

Cracks can make it easier but only slightly.

Thank you very much for your answer! So cracks can make it easier by a slight margin. So split or peeling also fall into that margin, if cracks make it easier if only a bit.
Sorry again if this is a few days old. But last sunday I kissed the same guy I mentioned here, for an extended period of time. He had no sores or nothing. But today the area around my lips and the corners of my lips have been bothering me; not really burning but not really tingling--the sensation is gone now. I have a small pimple just below my lower left lip and a pimple growing on my lower right jaw, and have a rash from being out in the sun all Sunday long. Its been three weeks since my "exposure" and no leison, sores, etc. Could the area around my lip mean I got infected?

Yes. Doesn't change my opinion at all.

I know this is a few days old but just one last thing. If my lips are split or cracked can I still kiss the guy I'm dating with low odds of catching herpes?
And/or Peeling

Just one more thing, the odds are low even after I found the cut on my lip after the kiss?

That's correct. Such low odds never warrant much concern at all. Combine that with no outbreak as of 8 days, it's safe to say you're fine

Most primary outbreaks happen 3-7 days after exposure. 4 being tge average. 20 days is very rare. The odds of hsv from a kiss when no sores are present is extremely low. Do not worry over this.

Thank you for your response! So the odds were extremely low when we kissed that night? It's 8 days now and no symptoms but I keep monitoring everyday just in case (my hypochondria speaking). So the odds are that I'm not at risk?
