still score low positive after 7 years

The last time I had sex was in 2007. She was promiscuous and I wouldn't doubt she had hsv2 even though she stated she was clean. I used a condom. In 2008 I tested stds and my score came back positive for hsv1 and hsv 2. HSV 2 was in the low 1 range. I got retested and the number went up slightly to 1.98. My doctor stated with my sexual history and low scoring numbers it is most likely cross reactivity with hsv1 and being that I had no symptoms of any kind he said dont worry about it.

Years went by and I havent had sex since 2007. I tested again last week bc I could live with it if its true. I took herpesselect test at quest diagnostic and this time tested negative for hsv1 and pos for hsv2 at 1.98 again. I had canker sores (inside mouth) way before since I was 10 or 11.

Should I accept after 3 tests in low positive range for hsv2 as my final verdict that i do have it or do biokitusa or WB? I have never shown any symptoms of ANY kind. BTW, would biokitusa result be good enough for final answer at this point?

You cannot tell who has HSV2. Some have had one partner and have it, some have had hundreds and don't.

Only WB will help you from here.

The level has little to do with the way in which your immune system is responding to a virus. The reason given is not an explanation for a low positive.

That doesn't change the need for the WB test, that will really help.

Another thing, before that sexual encounter in 2007, I always tested negative for hsv2. But the low pos scores make me wonder. I will take WB test

The person who read me the results stated the low positive could just mean my body has learned to live with the virus.

If I were you, I'd go Westernblot now.

You have a consistent positive reading and at that level it would be of the order of 50/50 of being positive.
