Question about possible HSV exposure

I know this may sound like a very stupid question to ask to many. But I really want to get an opinion from people who know more than I do.

I have a friend who is known to have cold sores. One day he was eating directly from a small sized plastic bag of sunflower seeds using the same fingers that was coming into direct contact with his saliva and mouth. He was doing this repeatedly for over 15 minutes. I came in from another room and grabbed a handful and threw it directly inside of my mouth. When I realized the way he was eating out of the bag and that it bothered me, it was too late. I talked to him, he said it was no big deal. But part of me has been fixated on the probability.

I got tested 2 weeks later just to make sure I already didn't have HSV antibodies, I am coming out of a 6 year relationship so I already have a lot stress that I can barely deal with. The test that shows up in my online summary is called "Treponema pallidum Igg+IgM" My online results say "non reac" which I assume means no reaction. But part of me doesn't understand why the results aren't type specific even though I asked for it. I asked my doctor but he doesn't seem well informed on HSV1 or 2.

I plan on going back in 5 months to get tested one more time to put my mind at ease. I assume if I was exposed to anything it would not show up in sometime.

Part of me wants to know the probability of it all, am I just over-reacting to this? Or is this real risk given that I have come into contact with some saliva. Also part of me wonders if it's even possible given that the handful of seeds that I grabbed, I threw them directly into my mouth meaning it never got into contact with the outer skin of my mouth.

Thanks life360. Just out of curiosity, has there ever been a reported case were HSV is contracted without direct skin contact? If shedding is on food and that food is directly put inside of mouth without touching exterior skin how would the infection present itself during an outbreak. Since from my understanding it would generally show symptoms around the area of infection. Would that mean it would be inside of the mouth?
