Rash

I've had two small herpes lesions in that past two years after being infected by my husband I think, who, we believe is asymptomatic. I am having an outbreak at the moment, which is by far the worst I have had, but it's strange because it doesn't fit really with the symptoms that I have been reading about. (I have no health insurance, so I'm just trying to figure this out on my own). I have one small lesion on my outer bottom right labia which lasted for about two weeks. It is now mostly closed and dried out, but a few days ago, this raised blotchy red rash started to spread over my entire lower vaginal and anal area. It is incredibly unbearably itchy (I'm going crazy), but there are no blisters or even bumps. Just that one small lesion that's almost closed up. I'm worried that I gave the rash to myself, in my effort to experiment with home remedies I've found online. I tried the baking soda paste thing  last night, and woke up in the middle of the night with my vagina swollen to the size of a baseball and an itchy burning over my entire genital area that made me want to scream. is this kind of blotchy spreading rash and swelling without blisters a normal herpes symptom? What can i do for it? Thanks

this is more than just herpes going on and you need to be seen today. get properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally too while you are there. this is not something to self treat at home and it's not something to put off being seen about.

Intersting home remedy.  I would tell you Grace has some good ideas on what to do with this.

How were you or your husband diagnoised?  Was it via blood test or culture?

If you don't have health insurance your local health department maybe able to help you.  They are fairly good at taking care of people.  Given your state (not sure on your city) but I bet you can find a good cheap place to go.  Talk to your local city health department and they can point you to a low cost clinic or they maybe check you out themself.

With that being said you need to have a doctor look you over.  You could have something going on down there that is not herpes.  As grace is found of saying here "Not everything that happens down there is herpes."  Wish I could be of better help.
