not necessisarly but having it in both areas is rare.
I'm quite certain that I have oral hsv 1, but if I would of contracted genital and oral hsv 1 at the same time wouldn't I have had a genital outbreak but now, since I've already had oral symptoms 2-3 years later?
If you have oral hsv1 your basicly immune to contacting it in the genital area and just because a person does not have any outbreaks does not mean they dont have herpes.
Thank you for your reply!
I've been positive for a couple years and have never had a genital outbreak though. Wouldn't I have had symptoms by now, since it's 2-3 years later? I have however had lesions underneath my nose twice.
So since I've never had a genital outbreak, wouldn't we conclude that i do not have hsv 1 genitally?
Sorry I'm asking so many questions!
Since you tested positive for hsv1 and are having some symptoms, its almost cerntain oral from child hood. Most outbreaks occur in the same spot give or take an inch.
The best way to confirm your nose sores are to have them swabbed the next time they appear. Other wise we are only speculatiog
Also, I was wondering if I could ask you a few more questions..
Is it possible to have a coldsore appear in two slightly different places?
For example, my first lesion was directly underneath my nose in the middle. My second reoccurrence was underneath my nose, but more to the right. Does this sound typical of cold sores?
Also, I don't recall my cold sores being that extremely painful. I had all the other symptoms of a cold sore though, however.. Burning, itchiness, cluster of blisters, and they reoccurred nearly in the same place within an inch of each other. Can this happen?
What do you think?
If I've never had a genital hsv 1 outbreak, can I be certain that I will never have one?
I've tested positive for hsv 1 for a couple years now and get occasional cold sores under my nose.
Thank you life360 for answering my questions!
No, it sounds like you got a rash from running!
