Recently Diagnosed With Herpes Having Trouble With Outbreaks!

Recenlty I was tested and came back postitve for HSV-2. My first outbreak which was a single blister turned ulcer and then healed over lasted about two weeks to fully close up and heal. I was given Acyclovir dosed at 400mg taken 3 times a day for 5 days. After I finished my first dose of Acyclovir I went to speak with my primary Dr about being put on a daily suppressive thearpy. He prescribed me Acyclovir again, but dosed at 800mg taken twice daily. I felt that this may have been too high and had been taking it only once a day since everything I had read on Acyclovir supression was informing me that 400mg twice a day was sufficient for daily supressive thearpy.

Three weeks had gone by since myfirst outbreak and was conitinuing the once a day Acyclovir, but today I noticed a small blister again on the shaft of my penis no other sypmtoms present just this single blister. That same day I tripled my dosage of Acyclovir as I had read that for an episodic occurance it can be taken 3 times a day for two days for an outbreak. Would this new outbreak be caused by me not taken the dosage first prescribed by my Dr or is it possible to still have an outbreak while on a daily supresser?

What test did you have to diagnose hsv? If it was a bloodtest then was it an igg test or igm? What was the numeric value of the test?
It is possible and likely to have an outbreak while on suppressive therapy.
