Relationship between HSV-1 and Chicken Pox

Hello,
I was just diagnosed with HSV-1, I received my results from an M.A. at my GYN's office via a phone call. She told me that HSV-1 is oral herpes, and that I need not worry as me testing positive could be a result of me having the Chicken Pox as a child (being that i've never had a cold sore). I found this to be incredibly concerning that she was so nonchalant about this. I wondered if anyone else had ever been told that you can test positive for HSV-1 just from having the chicken pox?
Thanks.

hsv1 is not the same as chicken pox. you don't test + for hsv1 because you've had chicken pox.

I have been recently told by my nurse practictioner that 80% of teh human population in the US. has had chicken pox.  She also told me that I am postive for HSV-1 from having chicken pox.  Now I have alot of people on this internet telling me yes and then telling me no.  I am too confused.
