Retest for herpes /hsv2?

I currently go to college and went to my campus clinic concerning vaginal itching and was diagnosed with a yeast infection. I also tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea as well. The next day I went back to the clinic and did a test for herpes. The day after that my results for chlamydia came back positive and so did herpes simplex virus 2.my index number was 2.30 but the nurse practitioner told me that it is unlikely for that number to go back down or be a false positive. I have no symptoms of genital herpes and even took a physical examination for any herpes symptoms.Should I retest or just let it go?

This falls with in the low positive range for HSV testing. I really think you need a confirmatory test and the best test out therefore this is the HSV Western blot test at the University of Washington. You can look it up at their website. It’s a little pricey and kind of a pain to have done but I think that you do need confirmation. Did you recently have a sexual encounter? Any concerning encounter in the recent past?
My last sexual encounter was February 24.That encounter was mostly protected with a condom. I had a boyfriend of 5 years who tested negative. Waiting on other past partners results as well.
Without index value it’s still falls with in the equivocal range. This could be a false positive. Your last sexual encounter was with your boyfriend of five years? If so, And he tested negative, there’s a good chance this is a false positive. You definitely need a confirmatory test. Since it’s in the range of a possible false positive and you had no symptoms, I think that a confirmatory test like the Western blot would be a good idea.
No it was with someone else and the encounter was mostly protected but my ex of 5 years who I had unprotected sex with tested negative for hsv2.I also took another test at a different location. When the nurse called me back to discuss the results she said that hsv2 was normal. I was content until I called back just to make sure I heard the rest of the information correctly and she said that hsv2 was positive. So after hearing that I asked here for the index value and she said there wasn't one on the sheet and had to contact the nurse practitioner for it. She said she would call me back but has not and I've been trying to contact that clinic for definite answers and no one is calling me back. At this point I don't know...
I took this test on March 30.
So I got in contact with the nurse and she said my index value is 3.04 for hsv2. At this point I don't think I need further testing because the numeric value went up. Idk what to do and it's been 4 weeks between my first and last test so idk if I'm seroconverting or what..
Should I still seek out further testing?
And I am a 21 year old African American woman so idk if that puts me at more of a higher risk. Anyone's opinion will be greatly appreciated
It could be that you are serocoverting . If you don’t have any outbreaks wait several more weeks , 12 from your last sexual encounter and get another igg test. If the numeric value goes above 3.5 most likely you are positive. You can get the Western Blot test but you have to wait as well 12-16 weeks for accurate results. Without any outbreaks, and being protected encounter it could be false positive.
The person above is right! Wait 12 weeks from the encounter and test with an IgG one last time. With the index value increasing, you could be building antibodies.
Or, if they stay about the same at 12 weeks, less than 3.5, get a confirmatory test.
