Scared

I have a red vulva with burning for 7 weeks now. I also been getting a stabbing pain and tingling from time to time. I have been treated for BV twice and yeast three times. I fear herpes. I haven't seen any lesions. I also have been having a lip tingles, burning throat, chest, pain in left ear, and breast tenderness. I don't know if all these symptoms are linked or I'm having multiple issues. I have so much anxiety right now. I'm afraid to even touch my kids.

I have an spot Wednesday with an obgyn Wednesday. She said they may do a biopsy because I could have something going on.  I'm going to ask her to do the igg tests which will be getting drawn at the 9 week mark.  8 weeks with these symptoms is driving me crazy. I feel my life is over!!

I have only been with my husband for a little over 9 years and 4 months. My prior partner was a year before him. I have had four kids and I'm not sure if they tested for hsv or not. All my tests well pregnant were always fine though. Now on 1/13/16 I got vaginally burning, redness, and discharge. 1/18/16 tested positive for yeast. Treatment didn't help. Got seen 1/30/15 got treated for yeast and BV, but no tests to prove that was my cause. Still no relief. 2/31/16 throat issues started. Seen for both throat and vaginally issues 2/5/16. Didn't see anything wrong with my throat and I tested positive for BV. I got treated with a different method of antibiotics. Now I'm still having both the throat and vaginally issues. Vaginal issues are going in for 8 weeks straight and throat for 5 and a half weeks. I'm afraid to even touch my husband and he thinks I'm crazy. He sneaks kisses and I'm afraid if I have it and he's kissing our kids they will get it. I'm driving myself crazy everyday because of this.

I think that's a good idea. You can actually just test at 12 weeks, which will then return a reliable result.

As for touching your kids, please don't worry about that. HSV can only be transmitted via skin-to-skin contact with a mucous membrane (mouth, genitals) or a portal (cut, wound, tear, abrasion) in the skin of the uninfected person. The virus is very fragile and doesn't live outside the body long. It isn't transmitted via inanimate objects.

Terri Warren herself tells us that if it were so easy to pass the virus, kids would have lesions all over their bodies all the time, and in her words, "this just doesn't happen."

Practice standard good hygiene by washing your hands normally, avoid kissing your kids on their mouths, eyes, nose and ears until you get definite test results after 12 weeks. You and your kids will be just fine

I did get an igg test. It was three weeks two days after symptoms started and about 4 weeks and 1 day after last sexual encounter. The test was negative, but I know that's too early. I saw that Terri warren said 50% will test positive at that point, but there's still a 50% chance. I was going to test next week at 9 weeks just for my own sanity and than again at 12 weeks.

Hello Feelingsad13 - take a deep breath, honey. First, discuss all of your symptoms with your doctor. Second, if you really want to know whether you have HSV, ask your doctor to order an IgG type-specific blood test immediately. You'll have to test again in 4 months if it comes back negative. You can trust the results of the latter test, if it comes back definitely negative or definitely positive. Many of your symptoms sound unrelated to herpes, but herpes does present in a number of ways, and at the same time a lot of conditions mimic herpes. Get tested for better answers.

I just fear if it were I got it both orally and vaginally at the same time. I fear passing it to my kids because they are 5, 2, and 9 months. So they put their hands in their mouths and than touch their eyes, genitals, etc. I feel more anxious about them getting it than I do about myself. I have had the redness and burning for 7 weeks and the throat, chest, and ear problems for about 4 and a half weeks.

These symptoms absolutely do not suggest hsv at all. Your stress and hyper awareness is not helping at all
