I'm sorry this is happening, and that you feel traumatized.
How were you diagnosed? Did the doctor run any tests? Do a culture or blood test? It may be herpes, and I don't want to get your hopes up that it isn't, but testing is important.
Let's assume that it is herpes for now, since you have blisters. There are no other health complications you need to worry about. Herpes will recur from time to time - it may be more frequent at first. If this is painful, and you feel lousy, with body aches and maybe a headache, etc. - it won't ever be this bad again.
If you do get recurrences frequently, or you want to reduce transmission to a partner, you can take daily medication to help. Valtrex or acyclovir are the meds for that. Valtrex is once a day, but is generally more expensive. Acyclovir is twice a day, and is generally a lot cheaper. Most people decide what to take based on convenience vs cost.
If your doctor did tests, you should find out if you have genital herpes type 2, or type 1 (which would be the result of receiving oral sex from someone who has oral type 1). The number indicates the strain of the virus, not the location.
It's important to know what type you have because they recur and transmit at different frequencies, and may affect your treatment decisions.
You should read the Herpes Handbook at https://westoverheights.com/herpes/the-updated-herpes-handbook/ It's free, and written by one of the world's leading experts on herpes.
I promise you that herpes isn't nearly as bad as you think it is. I promise.
Are there any health complication i need to worry about besides the blisters?
