Sore inside Urethra

Hey All -

This past Monday I noticed a small sore inside my urethra (just inside the opening).  The sore resembled what looked like a very small canker sore that occurs in the mouth.

The previous week I was out camping/hiking and it rained all week.  Therefore, I was drenched the entire time and covered in mud and dirt.  I went out again this week, and while I go out I try not to wear underwear in order to avoid jock itch.  I noticed the sore this past Monday while I was walking and it was giving me pain when it rubbed against the inside of my pants.

I went to the doctor and he could see the irritation, but had a hard time noticing the sore that I was talking about.  He told me that it could either be herpes or caused from not wearing underwear.  I asked him if I should get a herpes test and he said not to worry about it for now.

The pain only lasted through Wednesday after the doctor gave me some Anti-septic to apply to the sore.  The sore is now starting to fade away.  There has been no crusting, scabbing, or pain while urinating.  The only pain occured when the sore rubbed on the pants.

I was wondering if anyone could give any insight other than what the doctor told me.  I want to know if yall think it could be herpes and if I should get tested, or if it is from the irritation or if it was caused by some bacteria.

-Thanks

Your doctor could barely see this so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If you really are worried about herpes, get a type specific herpes igg blood test this week and see what it says. If it's only hsv1+ though there's no way to know if it's hsv1 orally or genitally without a lesion culture of genital symptoms ( or if you can recall a history of cold sores at all ).

I forgot to add that the last possible exposure that I had was that I received a ******* (no more than a couple of minutes long) from a girl (of unknown status) back in the middle of July this year.  I was tested for everything a few weeks before that and all came back negative.  Since the test, the ******* in July is my only sexual encounter.

Thanks again
