Sore on Penis?

The guy that I am seeing last night had about an inch semi raised bump. No liquid and same skin tone. It there were a few but it was just around the crevice of the penis. all pretty column shapped ring (only one as it went around) and didn't hurt . the next morning he didn't have it. I'm not sure if it was just do to oral (which was like a minute) and do to hardness. It didn't hurt him or anything. I was wondering if this sounded like herpes. Also, if so is the rate of transmission really low if there was a condom for vaginal sex? I know i heard hsv2 rates are low for oral. But im panicking a little. I do care about him and I want to make sure everything is fine or take repercussions before we continue.

only a small percentage of folks who have hsv2, have it orally. you can contract it there but the risk is overall fairly low.

get tested to know your status :)

Thank you so much Grace :) You are a life saver. I have one last question though. haha yes, i swear. If i could I'd send you cookies, specifically the sugar cookies with the pumpkins and ghosts on them.

1) Is genital herpes hard to obtain in the mouth? ( Also, in this specific case. I was only down there for like a minute and a half. tops 2 and no pre-cum)

I hope you and your family are well and that there was no harm from Sandy. I also hope the interviews went well too!

that doesn't sound like oral herpes going on.

it looks a little white on top but fleshy colored around and not red. It literally appeared out of nowhere, it doesnt even burn with lysterine or when i push on it. My roommate says she gets these occasionally.

I recently found one bump on the bottom inside of my gum, right below the tooth. Nurse said it was just white, no signs of irritation and it did not hurt me. It feels pretty solid. I'm not sure if it was from something I ate or not. Its pretty tiny. She said i'd have to wait till wed to get checked since the hospital is quite full. Do you think I should even bother with getting tested?

the majority of people who have hsv1 orally don't get obvious cold sores to know that they are infected. hsv1 genitally tends to present with very obvious symptoms since it's out of its area or preference.

Thank you so much Grace. You are amazing!! I hope you and your family remain safe during Sandy. Last question, can you have hsv1 and never have an outbreak? I'm sure i must have it because my friends get it frequently, one whom i live with. I just want to be more careful is all. Have a nice day :)

this still doesn't sound like herpes. follow up on testing at the proper times and go from there.

I'm not exactly sure if it did go away. I glimpsed. If it had not gone away, does it sound like a case of herpes? Thank you so much for your time Grace. Very much appreciated :)

no std related causes of your symptoms would go away that quickly.

continue to follow up with your provider as needed.  this doesn't sound like herpes.

Also, the time span of oral was very short. tops 2 min and no precum. Do you think this is a low encounter rate and does not need testing?

We decided not to continue, due to some issues. However, i was wondering. Since it was on the shaft and there were two bumps. (skin tone and slightly raised like an irritated bug bite/hive. no pain, puss, or extreme redness) And im not exactly sure if it disappeared the next day. Glancing, i did not see anything. Do you still think this is not herpes or possibly a case of genital warts or maybe just a normal skin irritation from condom, oral, or clothing chaffing? Also, are transmission rates for ghsv2 to oral low? I'm trying really hard for my paranoia not to kick in. Especially since school testing is around the corner. thank you for your patience and time grace, i really appreciate it.

it doesn't sound like herpes symptoms he had.

you can both seek out testing to know who has what if you are going to continue to see each other.

I forgot, but does the bumps besides the time span fit a description of herpes?

I didn't see it until the lights were turned on, it wasn't noticeable really. I'm just crazy about my health. I had health issues before but many told me it was nothing when it really was. So the paranoia stuck. Thank you so much for answering grace! Hopefully one day I will be able to do the same for people. Also, last question are the transmission rates for oral ghsv2 high and say if there is viral shedding. do condoms suffice ? Hope you have a nice day!

not likely herpes would go away that quickly. always best not to have sexual contact with a partner when anything is going on in the genital area in general though.

Oh, i'm very sorry. I thought that once it was answered you needed to do another. I tested negative for igg and igm. I don't think he's ever been tested before. He's supposed to get tested this week. He always thought it was included in routine checks until i told him. But in case things fall through, i was wondering if i should be as worried as I am.

it's most helpful when you just keep adding to your original post instead of making new ones.

have you and your partner had type specific herpes igg blood testing along with the rest of your std testing prior to starting to be intimate together?
