Sore red lips after kissing?

Last night i had been drinking in a club and ended up kissing someone with tongues. This morning i woke up and my lips are red and quite sore, it got me quite paranoid and i ended up searching on the net and things like herpes was popping up. Is this a possible sympton?

Thanks

it can with the initial infection but recurrences don't typically occur there.

many things can cause mouth/tongue sores including chewing gums, toothpastes and mouthwashes. if you use anything that is cinnamon flavored, tartar control or whitening, try switching to plain ole colgate/crest instead and see if that helps too. also wheat allergies are very common ( 1 out of every 10 of us has one ) and they can cause mouth sores too. Of course there are also some very common viral infections that aren't herpes that can cause them too.

Okay thanks. With herpes would anything ever appear inside your mouth/on your tongue or is it usually around the lip area?

Its on the bottom side of my tongue, not to far away from the end of tongue, around 1cm in. Could a mucocele appear around there?

might be a mucocele depending on where you mean by the bottom of your tongue. it's not a place herpes reoccurs at.

Well i completely forgot about this but i keep getting these see through bubble type of things on the bottom of my tongue, usually in the same place/area.

On some sites ive looked herpes is instantly mentioned whilst others say herpes generally does not affect the inside of the mouth. It is getting frustrating how one appears every 2/3 weeks. Could it be a herpes sympton?

all you can do at this point is to continue to follow up on symptoms as you have them.

I went to the doctors and he said that herpes wouldnt appear the next day as has been mentioned already in this thread. Also the white dots on my lips he said are normal.

When i first noticed the white dots a see through sort of bubble appeared on my tongue, after 3 or so days i guess it popped or something but another one has now appeared in the exact same place today. Anything possibly related to herpes?

What exactly do i do now though? Do i just wait it out till i can get a test done and wait to see if i get sores or anything?

how many times have I already told you that it doesn't sound like oral herpes?

I have made a doctors appointment so hopefully they will be able to help. Does the white dots on my lips sound like a typical herpes sympton though?

Its starting to annoying me, it feels like its either side of my mouth where the feeling is on my lips. Ive just looked in the mirror and opened my mouth wide, i can see loads of little white dots. Im assuming these are very likely to do with herpes as i can never recall seeing them before? :(

Sorry yeh i am obsessing, its the only thing ive been thinking about all day. Just to me though i seem to be going through what all websites list as symptons for the flu-like symptons and ive read plenty of people say how they started with flu symptons and then found out they had herpes.

Thanks for the reply, im really concerned though as i cant even remember the last time i had flu like symptons. This morning i felt fine but then this afternoon my head has started aching and ive felt really light on my feet, it i started to lean back i would pretty much fall down. I have never like this and never used to get headaches. Can all of these things be associated with herpes?

When would be the best time to get checked? It will be 3 weeks this coming Saturday, is that long enough or will i need to wait longer?

This could be anything.  People get sick.  It's not uncommon to get things from allergies and other things.  See your provider for a proper work up.

I was starting to forget this but on Monday night i started to feel ill and it lasted all day yesterday and was pretty much over by today. I had a headache, achey muscles and felt really hot and then really cold. Ive read on some sites about feeling unwell so how does this sound more like it could be herpes now?

if you are concerned, see your provider. Nothing you've mentioned sounds like herpes.

Well ive become really paranoid now and starting looking in my mouth if theres bumps or anything. There is a biggish bump inside my mouth on my cheek area and im not sure what that is. Below my bottom teeth at the front when i pull my lip forward there are 3 small little whitish bumps, does this sound like herpes?
