Sore throat after oral sex

Hi all,
Almost four days ago I performed unprotected oral sex on a male. For almost 24 hours (starting about 3 days later), I've had a sore throat on the left side. Not too bad, but enough to hurt when I swallow. My tonsils have white patches on both of them. Besides that, I have no other symptoms really. A mild headache last night, but that is it.

If this were to potentially be oral herpes, would I have already developed bumps/sores at the same time as the sore throat/tonsils ? Or do they take a couple days to appear after the sore throat? I do not know my partners herpes status, so I am worrying.

Or, would it be more likely that my oral flora is thrown out of whack from the new exposure?

So puss on tonsils and a sore throat is unrelated to herpes symptoms? They aren't a prodrome?

It is highly unlikely to experience herpes symptoms in the throat.

Most likely people experience the sores where the virus enters the body; where it was rubbed into with skin ti skin contact.
