Spreading hsv1?

During a party, my girlfriend, who has a cold sore, hugged me. I now am paranoid as her lips brushed my shoulder area. Could she have spread herpes to me this way?

I read that its unlikely as the shoulder is not a mucuous membrane. Please awnser my question

The risk may be slightly higher than if you were clothed. Clothed=zero chance. Unclothed isn't much more of a risk. Skin is thick in those areas and breaks in the skin for the hsv to penetrate in that circumstance is just not realistic. I would absolutely not worry.

Hey feelingundone. I know its an old thread but here it goes, back to the topic.

What if she nuzzled my shoulder while having a cold sore but i wasnt clothed. Will the risk of getting hsv on the shoulder be higher?

I apologize for the repeated post. The paranoia is killing me. Heh.

No risk. You are perfectly fine. It's not ridiculous. It's a concern and we take people's concerns seriously.

Not a chance. You can rest easy as this is absolutely no risk. Hsv can not penetrate clothes. If you shoulder wasn't clothed it's still zero risk as the virus needs to be massaged in and the skin on the shoulder area is very thick. A slight brush of the area is nothing to worry about

Thanks for the reply. How is the risk if the slight brush was more like a rub? Kind of like a nuzzle?

I apologize for sounding ridiculous here. Haha
