Strange bumps on glans penis

Hello,

I have a very serious concern about wether a strange spot of skin on my glans penis is herpes related or not. I have recently had unprotected sex with a girl I barely know, although she said she was clean. About a week later, a noticed a small raised area of flesh colored bumps on the right side of my glans penis near the entrance of the urethra. The bumps are almost the exact same color as my skin, but its a noticieably raised line of several flesh colored bumps. My glans seems to have always been natural bumpy, I even have a single similar looking bump from long ago, that was looked at and examed as normal by my docotor. Now I am living overseas and very far way from any doctors. I just wanted to know does herpes cause anything like this. The line of bumps do not itch or burn and appear to almost joined together, making a single small line. It has me prepelex and worried sick. I feel no other symptoms. I have two several detalied pictures in which the bumps look areas of raised flesh, but I am not sure how to upload a picture with a question. Well, if you have anyway idea as to what these bumps could be, or if it sounds herpes or warts related please le me know.

I"ve not seen pearly papules right next to the meatus as you describe, no.  So I'm not sure what's going on.  I really hope you will go to a clinic soon so they can help you sort this out.  Pearly papules normally occur either around the edge of the head of the penis or on the underside of the penis.

Hello Terri,

Thank you for your prompt response! I am greatly relieved to hear that these bumps do not resemble herpes. I have looked up pictures of several conditions, including pearly papules, in my panic about the apperance of these bumps. I have to say they do look somewhat similar, but I was under the impression that pearly papules wrap around the glans (the corona is it?) but do not appear on the glans itself. The location of my bumps are just a bit right of the meatus (urethal opening?) You are saying that pearly papules can occur in this location as well? It honestly looks like an elavated short line of several very tiny flesh colored bumps, so I am not quite sure if it is papules or not.

If it does turn out to be warts, would this mean I was infected by the previous encounter?I was under the impression the incubation period for warts is longer? I have looked up many pictures of warts as well, but they don't seem to fit the bill of my bumps, papules do resemble it much more although not 100%, since every picture i've seen shows them wrapping around the glans (corona)?

Anyway I will go to a clinic ASAP to get this bumps looked at. I have just a few follow up questions if it is ok?

1. Since these bumps do not seem to be hepres related, I feel very relieved, but it has only been 2 weeks since the encounter, so is there anything I should keep an eye out for in terms of herpes infection? (due this high level of stress and anxiety, another unprotected fling like this is out of the question for me!)

2. I have been examining (under light, touching, stretching) my penis at an unhealthy level I feel, mostly out of anxiety about herpes. My penis feels a bit sore now, and I have some redness that comes and goes, would you say that it is a result of my over-examination?

Last, please let me know if I am understanding you correct, and that pearly papules can appear right near the meatus, and not just around the rim of the glans.  If thats the case, papules may fit the bill almost 100%.

I appreciate your help, and I am at least a bit relieved for now that these bumps do not resemble herpes bumps, I was just scared becasue I know sometimes herpes only appears as bumps, not always becoming the "textbook" blisters and sores. But reading your response,I too feel this is probably something different than herpes.

Please respond if you have the time.

A sincere thank you,

B

I would recommend that you look at pictures of pearly papules on the internet.  They often appear exactly in the area that you describe, and look like what you describe.  Herpes does not look like what you describe.  It could also be warts, yes, but check out pearly papules and see what you think first.  They affect about 25% of men, and are completely normal and nothing to be concerned about.  If this doesn't help, you should see a clinician to help you sort out the nature of these bumps.

I also forgot to mention, the bumps seems to be pratical non-visible when my penis is errect. Only when it is flacid is a small line of bumps visible. Would I be wrong to assume that if this is herpes, it wouldn't disseaper from sight when the penis is errect?
