Strange reaction

Hi, I haven't had sex in a year and recently I had prtotected sex ,except oral. I am worried that I am having a herpes outbreak because I have an odd painful erosion btw the anus and vagina and small bumps. It occured 2 days after sexual activity but I must mention that I was very dry and he was extremly large. I also shaved down there prior to having sex and so I feel a tingling sensation. The bumps are a little red but don't hurt really. It's just that area that is really bothering me.  It appears to be like a lesion or something.it has layers and it's right the entrance of the vagina. I felt torn the first time we had sex. There was discomort and tenderness and now it's progress to what I described. Could be irritated from the condom too. I do have white thin discharge.. A lot of it!!! It hurts to urinat also . I am very nervous right now cuz it could be herpes or a yeast infection.. Is it possible to get am outbreak right after sex and to feel swollen ?please help!!

Thanks! I haven't seen a doctor yet but will. I was wondering if you kiss someone who has given u oral right after and they had herpes wouldn't a break out occur in the mouth not just the vagina? Are there a certain type of bump u should be liking for. Mine don't have puss just red , small , and tender. My partner is a new one and he is clean ..if I had something wouldn't he have broke out by now?

Could very well be.  If you haven't had a HSV blood test (type specific IgG) then I would recommend you get one.  It won't hurt and getting one would give you a base line as well.  

I agree chances of this being Herpes is really small.  I would still highly suggest you follow's grace advice and be seen by a provider.

Thanks so much!! I haven't had sex in a year nor have ever had an out break but I have always had some soreness or erosion happen after sex. I am not highly active. I am very sensitve to spermicide and I shaved the day of plus didn't wear cotton under wear nit saying I am ruling out STD s but just wanted to give more info. I think I will be healed in the next two days. Hopefully. I have a lot of watery discharge and the hairs are growing so I get painful tingly pricks... Ugh! But I want to thank all of you I learned a lot and will apply and educate others.

To answer a few of your questions.

1.  Yes Herpes can come with some discharge but so do other things.  You can get an outbreak (if your inital) within 2 days.  Herpes will not show up 24hrs after infection and can take up to 3 weeks to fully clear.  The discharge is something to be looked at like Grace said.

2. If your partner is clear of everything and did have an IgG blood test with his last sexual encounter with anyone else besides you in the last 3-4+ months ago his results can be trusted.

Unless you got Herpes from a previous partner or your partner had someone else during the time he was with you chances are you don't have Herpes and need a doctor to further investigate what you have.  An IgG type specific test will help you rule things out for yourself if your last sexual encounter was 3-4 months ago.

Yeah I will make the effort cuz I have always had issues with discharge and right now it's  yellow/ white and costantly coming out.. But oderless .. Eww

Thanks! Does herpes typically comes with discharge . I read it does? Lastly can u get an outbreak a day or two after sex and will it take awhile to heal?

you need to make the time and take the effort to go and get looked at.  this could be herpes but you also could have other multiple things going on. you also have discharge so it's best to get properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections genitally.  thin, white discharge is typical for bv more so than herpes.   A body cleanse is not going to be in your best interest at this point.

syrialee428: Sorry its actually 12 weeks.  I can point to the number of responses here on these forums and by Dr. HHH and Dr. Hook with Terri Warren to back that number up.  Please don't attempt to correct someone without an accurate knowing of the test.  You can test at 6 weeks.  There is about 70% chance that people will test positive by 6-8 weeks.  However, HerpeSelect will detect the soonest at 12 weeks.  However, most other IgG tests will go postive by about 4 months with each IgG test getting just about everyone at 6 months.  I would encounge you to read Dr. HHH response again.  Below I have coppied the relevant part for you.

"... it takes several weeks to become positive.  Most newly infected people have positive results within 6 weeks, so you could be restested any time now.  If still negative, have a final test 3-4 months after your last contact with your former partner. :

I understand and this could be whats going on.  Call your local city health department and see what they can tell you about a local free/low cost STD clinic.  They can take a look and give you a good idea. 6 weeks post possible exposure is not good enough and you will have to retest by week 16 for the best and most accurate result.  The previous poster was not correct in suggesting 6 weeks.  If you would like you can read a few of the other testing related post in which gracefromHHP respond (who is medically trained) and read her response of waiting.

It's actually six weeks after exposure. And this is according to Dr.HHH I was tested 8 weeks after exposure and my reuslts had changed from -ve HSV1 and HSV2 to +ve HSV1. You can check my profile to look at Dr. HHH response to my situation.

Thanks guys! I am really nervous about this... It feels like folliculitus too. I have had it before but I can't explain the erosion? It kinda resembles the clitoris . It's very tender an painful.

Honestly what you describe could be a few different things.  The best thing to do is get to a doctors office to have them look.  It sounds like its a little late to do a culture but something that they maybe able to look at.  To get an accurate test done if you have herpes is to wait 12-16 weeks after exposure.  The only test that will give you a good answer at 12 weeks is the HerpeSelect test.

Hmm well the symptoms you describe do sound like herpes. My experience was similar to yours just I got a sharp leg pain right before the outbreak. The sores themselves were not painful but it was extremely itchy. The only sure way to tell if it is in fact herpes is to report to a STD clinic asap for them to do a physical examination and maybe due a culture of the sores. Then follow with a blood test 6-8 weeks after your sexual encounter.
