Swollen lip

I recently had a swollen upper lip on the middle portion that lasted for about a day.  There was no pain or anything.  Now, about a week later, my fiancee has the same thing with her upper lip.  It this herpes-related, allergy reaction, or what are the possible causes?

You're asking us? Can you say "vague?" There's too much vagueness here in your description to go anywhere with this. Do you both have type 1 herpes? (You have a higher likelihood of having it than not.) If so, don't worry about it being herpes. If only one of you has it and you pass it to the other, well, no big deal there either. Half the population has it.
