Test results came in

Hello,

I had protected sexual encounter w an escort 3 months ago. I tested today and everything came back negative....except my hsv1 which came back at 1.65. I have never had sore or blister. I am wondering is it possible to defferienate it from oral or genital? What does this mean? Am I positive? I have a wife. Can I resume sexual activity with her? I have been putting off sex until I got these results but now don't even know what to do with them.

Also a side note my wife does get cold sores on her lips. She never gives me oral however. She hasn't had a cold sore in years but used to get them more frequently when we were dating. I have never had a cold sore.

This is either a false positive on the hsv1, or an oral infection that you've had for some time.

Genital hsv1 transmission is very, very unlikely, as it recurs and sheds far less frequently than genital hsv2. Also, you used a condom.

On the highly unlikely chance that this was a genital hsv1 transmission, you would be very, very unlikely to transmit it to your wife as she already has it.

Whatever the situation is, I wouldn't worry. It won't impact your life in any meaningful way.
