Tested for HSV Igg at 12 weeks,is it conclusive?

Hi Herpes Community,
i had an encounter with a csw in january, condom slipped ,went on hiv pep and tested for most the stds all the way till june .i kind of gotten over the negative results of the other stds except for HSV2  .I tested positive for HSV1 which i believed to be from childhood .
i tested for HSV 1,2 igg at 4th,7th,9th,12th week post possible exposure. all the results were the same
HSV 1 igg reactive
HSV 2 igg non reactive

I was pretty convinced to move on from this episode until recently reading about having hsv1 delays the detection of hsv2 igg and therefore 16 weeks window is recomended?sorry for the lengthy post and i am based in Singapore and all the tests are done in my local quest lab but i am unsure what specific test is done .

So should i just take confidence that the 12 weeks result is conclusive or just have it tested again and call it a day? I have not noticed any symptoms suggestive of herpes in genital areas though but my skin condition arent perfect though.

If you haven't had any symptoms, I would accept the 12 week test and move on.

There's a decent amount of false positives with hsv2 testing, and you don't need to push your luck by testing again.

Hi Jessi,
Is there a possibility that from the 12 weeks on to the 16 week it will become a true positive ?

i would really like to move on. but can i kinda be assured i am all clear of hsv2 ?
There is an 8% chance that the hsv2 test missed your infection (this happens with anyone), but without symptoms, I doubt you have one. In a very few people, it can take longer to develop hsv2 antibodies if you have hsv1, but we know now that we'll get those by 12 weeks.

You tested 4 times - already too many for just a broken condom and no symptoms.

I see ,just to clarify what you meant is even for the slightly longer seroconverters, the 12 weeks test would have already picked it up? and beyond 12 week point, the acuracy will still be the same
Yes, that's what I mean. Really, you can let this go. You've had no symptoms, your tests are negative. Your risk was so, so low. You don't need to worry.

If it will help put your mind at ease to get tested at 16 weeks then go for it. Based on your results so far I would be hopeful that you will test negative again.
