Tested positive for hsv 2_ 13.20

I was tested last week for hsv, my hsv 1 was negative my hsv2 was 13.20 which to me is really high my igm was 1.15, my vca igg w as 8.0 and my cmv antibody igg was10.90 my concern is i went to the doctor for sore throat swollen lymph nodes, i did have mono when i was 15. The doctor i spoke to was concerned about the igm test and not the hsv 2 igg which has me puzzled. Anyway i had shots in the previous year for hep. I was wondering if the test can be off since i had  mono. Because i never had any symptoms or lesion. Also been under lots of stress since my husband passed away

I can certainly understand why you would be worried about your health, given your husband's illness.

i have not had any of the symptoms that you described, just a sore throat. I went to get checked for stds because i had been sexually active lately plus my husband died of aids and he was not diagnosed in time also i am now a hypocondriac.

If you have the traditional HSV 2 test done, the IgG (forget the IgM), then you have HSV 2 infection, and with more than 98% certainty, it is genital.  The rest of the testing has no bearing on this particular issue.  Genital herpes symptoms can appear anywhere between waist and mid-thigh - lower abdomen, thigh, anus, buttocks or genitals.  Do you recall having any symptoms in any of those locations?  Why did you have the herpes testing done?
