You need to be seen within 24-48 hours of the appearance of the lesion. If you can't be seen by your regular doctor today or tomorrow then go to an acute care/walk in clinic type place. Also ask for a type specific herpes igg blood test along with the lesion culture to help you and your partner figure out if this is a new infection for you or not.

You need to get this checked NOW!!!! Do NOT wait till this lesion disappears because the Dr will only speculate. Make an appointment with a Dermatologist or an STD Specialist right this second and do NOT let them tell you to wait and come see them next week. You need to be seen now. Tell them you are having symptoms that may go away and it needs to be looked at for confirmation and they will accomodate you. I don't know what you have but the time line and a sore and some burning could be herpes.
