Timeline for initial symptoms

I recently (5days ago) had unprotected sex with someone and found out they have genital herpes. I have had vaginal itching in different areas for 2 days followed by frequent and urgent but not painful urination (have problems with UTIs and this is different). I haven't gotten any bumps or rash or redding of the skin yet, but I imagine they are coming. What is the timeline on developing lesions from the initial itching stage? Also, what is the liklihood of getting meningitis or some other complication? Please help.

So went to the doctor and it was a yeast infection. However, just had little dots with white tops that arent pimiples pop up on my neck. Have had a sore throat for the last two days. Had figured it was just like a little cold or something since I hadn't been sleeping and all the stress. Now thinking that wasn't the case. Do i need to wait until one breaks open to go get a culture or do I go now before they break open?

Thank you for answeing! I will absolutely get tested. However, is the time from when the itchiness to developing lesion/bumps still 2-20 days or is it less time?

the risk of contracting herpes from a one time unprotected encounter are very, very low. I can happen but odds are it didn't.   If you did happen to contract herpes, symptoms will occur anywhere between 2 -20 days post encounter.

since this was unprotected sex, you can properly cover your std testing bases at the proper times. You can get tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea anytime after 1 week post encounter. syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months.

odds are your current symptoms are just irritation or even vaginitis going on, should they continue through the weekend or get worse, be seen for a proper exam and testing.
