Thank you for your support, honestly, you've been the most friendly person I've met on here yet. I understand that everyone has lives but it gets a little discouraging when you type a question, someone answers, you leave another response and your entire thread is completely forgotten.
But I just appreciate your follow ups to my questions and your warm but honest responses. Does help that I'm all emotional...it's nearly that time of the month....but that's TMI :p
Thanks again
Yes I would wait to see if you get any more bumps then go to your doc and have them culture it and demand they type the culture to see which starin you may or may not have. Then you will know for sure. It is hard I know i live everyday with this and believe me it is not easy. I have hsv1 from oral sex with my hubby of 24 years he had a cold sore 8 days earlier we thought we were safe and BAM here I am. So believe me when I say it happens to anyone, this virus is a virus of oppurtunity and does not discriminate! Take care and know that my thoughts are with you in this difficult time! :))
Thanks for your response and sorry, guess I should have been a bit more specific. It's just funny because there is still a hard spot present where the bump used to be. I'm hearing all kinds of things people saying if there is still a bit of a hard spot left it's probably not herpes...in one case when I had the bump and I toweled off after a shower it bled a little, someone else said it couldn't be herpes because blood doesn't come out of the sores. I know you're right though, I should go get a test. I do know though that if I go get a test it won't be able to tell me if I do have it if it's orally or genital without directly swabbing a bump. I'm not one hundred percent sure if I get cold sores or not because sometimes I get jsut plain pimples arounf my mouth and so I can't really distinguish.
Do you think I should wait and see if more bumps appear to further follow up?
Oh, sorry new to the forum so I have not read your other entry. :)) But my suggestion is get a blood test ask for a herpes select typing and see if you ever have been exposed to either type 1 or 2. But remember most people have already been exposed to HSV1 (cold sore strain). So if you get any other symptoms then I would immediately at least within 2 days go and get them cultured to see if it is herpes with the culture and blood test you should get a definitive answer. I have hsv1 from oral sex my hubby gave me when he did not have a cold sore visible so it is possible and does happen.
The thing is, I wasn't diagnosed with herpes...that's why I'm wondering if I should go back and ask. I've posted my whole story on here of how I may have gotten it awhile back and I'd really rather not get into it again, lol. Lets just say the short version is I ended up letting my ex lick me about 2 or 3 times down there and then he stopeed. About 3 months later on bump appeared and then popped and that was it. I don't know, my doctor said not to worry but I'm not sure.
Yes I to have had weird sensations in my vaginal area since my initial OB 8 weeks ago. And yes, i also look at myself in the mirror because of that reason, and ito have no signs of an outbreak either and yes I still have one spot that is sensitive to the touch and redder than the rest of my vaginal area, to me it looks like scar tissue, but there is no swelling, sores cuts nothing. I do take Valtrex 500mg daily and was told it could be a side effect tingling in the same area your Ob first was. I hope thats right because I am going nuts and tired of being on my back(only want to do that when my hubby is with me) :)) I sure hope these pains go away for me, because I know it can be annoying and emotionally draining! take care :))
