Valtrex day 10 new spot?

My question is is it normal to get a new sore at day 10 on Valtrex and do I need to continue it or wait it out a few days?

Today is day 10 of taking Valtrex for an initial outbreak. I was prescribed 1 gram 3x day for 7 days the day I got the script I started it at bedtime. On the 5th day I called and had to beg the doc in a box for a refill lucky I got 3 days more. I cut day 8-10 down to 2 a day so I could have an extra couple of days at one gram a day for day 11 and 12.

I noticed last night a new tender dot on my labia and I'm scared to death these others that have are healing will flair back up. I did use a vibe twice as I got horney I tried to be careful maybe I aggrivated it.

I'm hoping to stay off these until my primary doc does my thyroid blood work  February 3rd as depending on when I got this it would be either 8 or 11 weeks then.....and then follow up with my GYN for a final in March.

My IGM taken on December 12th came back a week later with a 1.35 and they said I was positive for Genital type 1 as the type 2 IGG was  negative but I know its early. I was exposed on Nov 17th and December 9th. Its obvious it is Herpes I am just praying its a Type 1. No a new pace on day 10 is that worrysome?

I'm assuming since the type 2 came back negative they are saying its a 1 as the IGM reflected 1.35 and 1 and 2 is all they have to typecast. I have copies of all the paper work.

you'll need to call them monday to find out what testing was hsv1+ since so far nothing you've seen, says hsv1+.

don't put rubbing alcohol on your genital area!!! it causes more harm than good and shouldn't be used on our sensitive genital skin.

and by "sore" I am meaning the dot....most of this has just been a very raw vulva almost like paper cuts or the like but no ulcers. I actually put rubbing alcohol on the few I had today to "kill them" really concentrating on the newer one.

Sorry Grace, I thought it was a new topic that needed a new post my bad. I don't remember seeing a culture for herpes. I had at that point just redness, swelling and irritation from what I assumed was rough sex, oral sex and a marathon 5 hour session. There were white dots here and there later but to my knowledge I haven't had any ulcerations at least not externally. At the time she didn't see any internally nor did she see any tears (which I though I may have) I have had a hysterectomy and have no cervix.

The pap wet prep thingie only listed some yeast and mod bacteria...the diflucan brough the swelling down. It was later when I went back to get a hard copy to see what my actually tests were that I noticed the side note about inform the patient shes positive for herp 1. The nurse on the phone did not do that just said all tests negative but you  have  herpes. She didn't say what was what. The sheet said a combo 1/2 IGM test was run and the type 2 IGG that was well within negative. So no no culture for that I am assuming because there was no lesions.

As I was beginning to see white dots I did begin the Valtrex. I would never had known I had been prescribed it a week before had I not read it on my paperwork and had to go back in and inquire about it and have them call it in *rolls eyes*

it's easiest when you just keep adding to your original post instead of making multiple posts. thank you for your future cooperation with this.

you posted no other testing the first post that said you had hsv1 genitally. did you have a lesion culture that came back as + for herpes or hsv1 ?
