Web Myth's

I have read many places that the first outbreak is usually the worst and occurs 2-14 days after sexual intercourse.  But also that it can lay dormint for months or years?  I had an outbreak believed to be herpes(test to come back tomorrow) I have only had one partner in the last 6 months and this is the first Outbreak I have had, and it is not painful at all.

Also, she had a child July 4th, is HSV testing standard with moms to be?

Yes it is possible to be infected and show no symptoms for some time,in some cases it can range nywhere from days to months to years, you done right to be tested if you suspect you may have been infected the test will clarify this for you.
I live in the UK and Herpes testing for moms to be is not standard to my knowledge.

no herpes testing is not a part of routine pregnancy testing in most clinics.  She'd have to ask specifically if she was tested for it or not.
