If they are truly IgG antibodies for HSV2 then I see no real reason to doubt the results.
Yes this is the case exactly . The problem is that these 2 different igg tests not herpeselect . The 2 labs claims they r specific and differentiate hsv1 from hsv 2 but not herpeselect brand ( not available in country) so i can rely on them together with neg herpeselect immunoblot 1 week after herpeselect elisa of 1.7 result ( 5 weeks post possible exposure)
Are you saying you have had a HSV2 IgG test some two years after a concerning exposure and a low positive Herpeselect?
If this is the case then you are very probably negative. You have had no test result that could be considered conclusively positive and multiple negative tests. These are quite sensitive tests more likely to throw a false positive than be falsely negative.
Yours is a typical experience with blood testing and consistent with being truly negative.
No sypmtoms since that time . It has been 2 yrs but cant stop thinkning about first elisa test from now and then

The problem is i left usa and herpeselect is not available here. I made two elisa igg tests one year later and both came back negative but they have different ref range other than herpeselect
One says result 18.5 neg ref 30 pos
And the other result 2 neg ref11 pos
U know nothing about these tests . They claim they are herpes 2 specific.
Your ELISA positive result is a low positive and would need further confirmation.
The immunoblot and ELISA results correlate well but not perfectly, especially inside 3 months from exposure.
I'd retest again at 12 weeks with a Herpeselect ELISA to understand things further.
