What can I do about reccurant herpes (hsv2) outbreaks in beard, chin, lips?

I am a 26 yr old healthy male who gets 8-9hrs sleep per night, works out 5-6 times per week, and eats mostly paleo with occasional carbs. I take lysine, vitamin D, multivitamin, and use abreva.

One year and 3 months ago I experienced an initial herpes outbreak with three extreme lesions on my chin.  3 doctors misdiagnosed the lesions as infections because of their extreme appearance (very ***** and yellowish).  Finally I asked for a swab and it came back as herpes 2 on my chin.   That outbreak was done and then after a few months I noticed on my upper check, three sores in a line with intense tingling ... other side of face from initial outbreak.  I asked my doctor to be put on suppressive therapy and was given 500mg per day.    That didn't prevent another outbreak but since I have a beard its hard to tell if its itchy because of the beard or herpes, but repeatedly while on the 500mg a day i would get sores in my beard (very obviously herpes... tingle, puss, sore, and then flake off) so I asked to up it to two 500 mg a day.

Still taking 1gram a day and i got a cold sore on my lip, that was followed by 3 sores on the right side of my cheek, and then once the sore on my lip was gone, another on the other side of my lip appeared, and then two spots on my chin just about to blister or erupt.  Feeling a lot of tingling and itching in ears and all around face.

I'm going to my doctor and plan to have the areas swabbed.  If they come back as herpes 2 what can I do.  Will upping my dosage of valtrex help?   How much is safe to take?  Since its been over 1 year since my initial outbreak, is this likely to continue happening at this rate?   (There isn't much break between sores in my beard... so feels continual).  Or is there likely to be some magical turning point in the 2nd or 3rd or even 4th year.   Is it possible my body is so bad at dealing with herpes, that this will continue happening for life?

Sorry for the long post, frustrated and concerned my doctor will not have any answers.

I use a natural supplement called mediviral which has really helped me out. I used to get frequent outbreaks around my mouth and chin. I also use the mediviral cream.

What sexual activity did you have in the week before the first ever lesions appeared on your chin?

Are you sure this is HSV2? Was the swab cultured or was a PCR test applied?
