What else can I do, my suppressive therapy no longer working?

Hi.. So this is going to be a long one..I was tested positive for HSV2 back in May, I would say my first outbreak was 6 months before that but was told by my doctor it was an ingrown hair (outbreak was on bikini line) It then spread to my labia (this was the sore that I got a positive test from) I made the decision that I wanted to do the suppressive therapy taking acyclovir twice daily, this helped the outbreaks but the symptoms hadn’t gone at all, I was then told to take acyclovir three times a day.. I also take L-lysine daily and all my vitamins.. my reason for explaining this in detail is that nothing I am doing is working - I am currently experiencing an outbreak (in a new area) that is nearly as bad as my first. I have come to terms with the fact I have this in my body and it will be apart of me for the rest of my life but I would like to stop being reminded but the constant discomfort I have on daily basis. Is there anything else I could do? Should I stop taking the acyclovir all together? I eat healthy, exercise - yes I do drink alcohol on occasions because I’m not allowing this stupid virus stop me enjoying my life.

I know I sound like a drama queen and sorry for that!
