Why is the medical community so nonchalant about HSV!?

It just boggles my mind how HSV is not tested for and how adamant and crazy doctors make you feel. HSV can resemble one bump with no ooze, scab, puss or a "paper cut." Since learning I have HSV1 through a blood test. I've chosen to only date individuals as me. If people were more informed. This virus could stop spreading! It isn't just a "pesky skin condition." Especially for women, and people like me who are naturally anxious, paranoid, and stressed easily. It's hell. I feel very different in my body. I caught this late in life and there are a lot of unexplained pains in my body I never had before. Be a person with morals. Disclose it even if it's just "cold sores." A list of real threatening diseases HSV causes:

Bells Palsy
Meningitis
Encephalitis
Ramsay Hunt Syndrome
Dermatitis Herpetiformis
Stevens Johnson Syndrome
Alzheimer's
Sciatica
Epstein-Barr virus
Cytomegalovirus
Myelitis
RadiculitisĀ
Eye Keratitis

The medical community has far bigger fish to fry and those complications are not exactly common.

I do however agree that a big percentage of the medical community is clueless about hsv and testing.

Im with you on this topic! It should be treated more seriously and testing for this should be way better then what it is. This is a real scary disease life changing in fact a lot of people are not aware of the consequences of having unprotected sex and only relate it to getting pregnant but over look all the stds out their. Sex is showed and talked about in all outlets of life through books, tv, magazines, movies, friends, etc but they always leave out the importance of stds they are a real thing and really scary thing honestly id rather lose a finger or something than to have an std for the rest of my life.

Girly the thing is HSV is just passed on through SKIN CONTACT!! There are plenty of people who caught it while wearing a condom. I think guys should wear condoms and their boxers so it minimizes the brief area. I hate being paranoid, but I am very OCD. When I have sex, I run to the docs to get tested for everything, but HSV & HIV you have to wait months to get a definite answer. Even if you get your partner tested. You can never control them cheating on you and bringing you something. My fear is HPV too. How convenient men cannot be tested for it. Being a woman sucks big balls. Men carry a lot of STDs, but are normally always asymptomatic, but when we get it. We suffer greatly. I don't know. I'm tired of not being able to exploring my sexuality without freaking out, but I know myself and the worry is not worth it. It should be included in the panels of testing though. I heard in England you have to jump through hoops to get a test. All I know is HSV affects your nerves. Whether I make it worse with my anxiety. IDK, but I have never felt the same again and supposedly I only have the "cold sore" version. I hope they find a cure, but of course they cannot make money off of that!
