am i in the clear?

First off, i'd like to thank Dr. Handsfield and Dr. Hook for providing me with much appreciated information and reassurance during these past anxiety riddled months.  I am a 29 year old male with no history of STDs.  About 4 and a half months ago, i had vaginal intercourse with a young woman who afterwards informed me that she had genital herpes (visually diagnosed by a campus doctor, no blood test).  i wore a condom, but there was some brief genital on genital contact.  there were no visible sores that i noticed and she claims to this day that she has had no outbreaks since her initial outbreak which was 4 months before our encounter.  i immediately began researching herpes and lost hope pretty quick after reading the standard cdc info and proceeded to freak out for several weeks.  finally, i came across this forum and after reading about encounters similar to my own, i began to calm down, especially since i did not experience any herpes symptoms whatsoever (i have been examining myself with great scrutiny every day).  finally, my anxiety got the better of me and i decided to have an igg blood test at 9 and a half weeks instead of the full 12.  i tested negative for both type 1 and type 2 which was somewhat relieving but i was still a bit paranoid because of how early i got tested.  i eventually calmed down about it and around the same time i started hanging out with the previously mentioned woman and our relationship became romantic.  we did not have intercourse, but one night she gave me oral sex and i fingered her.  this was about 3 weeks ago.  i didn't think much of it at the time (drunk once again), but lately i have been getting anxiety again.  still no herpes symptoms whatsoever.  so now, my question is, should i get tested again?  and if so, should i wait 12 weeks after the oral encounter or get tested now since it's been about 4 and a half months since the initial encounter?

Sorry to be so long answering this - I asked that they hold my posts while I was out of town and out of cell range but I think this slipped by.  If she does indeed have genital herpes, which is unclear from your description of her diagnosis, receiving oral sex from her is not a risk unless she has oral herpes.  Putting your finger in her vagina is also an extremely low risk activity if the skin on your hands is intact.  So your genitals are not at risk.

Stepping back from this a little, you seem to be very afraid of getting herpes.  I'm wondering if it is really healthy for either of you, but emotionally particularly for her, to be intimate with someone who has such fears.  In addition, i think it would be worth her while to get tested to determine if she is really infected and if so, with which type.  Visual diagnoses are wrong about one in five times.
