back pain herpes

My father has been diagnosed with herpes, the sores are gone now, but the pain throughout his back has become more and more severe, accompanied with burning sensation. Does the pain have got anything to do with something other than herpes? Or is it just one of its symptoms?

The type of pain your describing would not appear HSV herpes related. What is the doctor advising?

The pain is more concentrated on the right side of the body surrounding the back as well as  the chest. But the pain is quite unbearable. Most of the articles say that the pain may persist for some people for a longer period of time. Does it have anything to do with immunity of the person?
