A week ago my left labia minora had what looked like a pimple on it.. i fussed with it a bit and that side of the labia swelled up. I assumed I had just irritated it and took it easy/wore cotton and loose clothes for a few days and it didn't get any better.
Went to the DR who said it looked like herpes, despite being tested, having all previous partners be tested.. in a bit of shock I did the required testing. (That I'd thought i'd done every time I'd requested to be tested for STDS) While I was there I had the main bump and a smaller bump which went away in about 2 days.
Anxiously awaited my tests which I thought included a swab test as well as a blood test. My swab test came back negative and I e-mailed the dr asking what I should be doing/inquiring about the blood test. It turns out she hadn't requested that blood test just some other STDs....which are all negative.
I now am waiting results on the blood test which I did this evening at Kaiser.. The old bump is much smaller now and almost healed, the left labia is still swollen and this evening I have a new bump that looks more like a blister on the opposite side. There are no clusters, not much itching, not too sore. I do take 1 pill of acyclovir for HSV1 daily. Could this be lessening HSV2 symptoms? Could HSV1 spread to the lower parts? Would the swab test have been just for HSV2 and came back negative if it was HSV1? Is there a way to find out what test Kaiser uses and how accurate it is?
